Blu-ray-Kritik:

Nachdem wir die Blu-ray Disc in den Player gelegt haben, werden uns die Sprachen, die zur Auswahl stehen, gezeigt. Es folgen Werbeclips zu „Ladder Match 2 – Crash And Burn“, „Greatest Rivalries: Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart“ und „WWE ’12“, gefolgt vom“Don’t try this at home“-Spot.

Danach gelangen wir in das Hauptmenü. Hier stehen uns nun die Optionen „Play All“, „Chapters“ und „Blu Ray Exclusives“ (Disc 2) zur Auswahl. Das Ganze wird natürlich wieder musikalisch begleitet. Im Gegensatz zur DVD hat man kein kleines Fenster, in dem diverse Hypeclips gezeigt werden, sondern das ganze Bild wird von einer „Menüleiste“ abgetrennt, die die Auswahloptionen usw. beinhaltet. Die Bild- und Tonqualität ist tadellos und die Blu Ray beginnt, sobald man sich für „Play All“ entscheidet

Booker T begrüßt uns und gibt einen kurzen Rückblick auf das prestigereiche „King of The Ring“-Turnier. Das Set ist so aufgebaut, dass es zu den meisten Matches eine kurze Einleitung von Booker T gibt und dann das eigentliche Match folgt. Von jedem King of The Ring-Turnier gibt es mindestens ein Match zu sehen, welches oft das Finale ist oder ein anderes, sehenswertes Match. Absolute Highlights sind, natürlich, das Hell in a Cell-Match zwischen Mankind und dem Undertaker aus dem Jahr 1998, sowie der brutale Street Fight zwischen dem Sieger der 2000er-Auflage Kurt Angle und Shane McMahon. Ebenfals empfehlenswert sind die Matches mit Beteiligung Shawn Michaels. 1996 traf er auf den British Bulldog und im Jahr darauf auf den Vorjahressieger „Stone Cold“ Steve Austin

Insgesamt ist dieses Blu-Ray Set ein fantastischer Rückblick auf ein Turnier, welches wohl das am meistbedeutendste der Welt war, aber am Ende an Stellenwert verlor. Booker T bzw. King Booker, der das Turnier im Jahr 2006 gewinnen konnte, präsentiert die Momente und dieses Set sollte jeder King of The Ring-Fan bei sich im Regal haben.
