WWE' 13 - Live The Revolution

Too Cool, Rikishi, Marc Mero, Jacqueline, Debra, The Headbangers, Val Venis, and Steve Blackman were all rumored to be part of the attitude roster, but whether it was WWE who nixed them or a deal with them that couldnt get done their names have dropped off the conversations for now.

It could also come down to THQ having a limited time frame/ number of roster spots and they need to make cuts.

It is believed Rikishi, Too Cool, and Blackman had models made for them before they were nixed. You have to remember too a lot of times with these games those that dont appear either wanted too much money or simply didn’t want to be in it. Lita had turned down THQ the last 4 years before finally agreeing to be in WWE 13.

Our previous reports had confirmed that Billy Gunn will be in the game, and Road Dogg himself said that he has done voice overs and Billy Gunn was also involved. However Billy Gunn has himself confirmed that he will be in WWE’13 Video Game via his twitter. A Fan asked him ” Are you in wwe’13 ? Please say you are” Billy Gunn replied: Yes

Cory Ledesma tweeted “It’s nice to finally have a proper liontamer in the game.” Lion Tamer was the finisher Chris Jericho used before his debut in WWE back in 1999.

The first week of pre-orders for the WWE '13 video game were up 250% from the first week of pre-orders for the WWE '12 game last year.

  • THQ hat heute in einer offiziellen Pressemitteilung bestätigt, dass "Iron" Mike Tyson im neuen WWE '13 Videospiel als spielbarer Charakter enthalten sein wird:

The 'Baddest Man On The Planet' Returns: Mike Tyson Returns To The Ring

The campaign premise of “Live the Revolution” continues, as THQ today announced the return of the incomparable Mike Tyson to the ring – virtually – in WWE® ’13, the revolutionary next installment in the WWE flagship videogame franchise. Often touted as the “baddest man on the planet,” the boxing legend and former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will be available as an exclusive playable character for consumers who pre-order the videogame at any participating retailer in the UK for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (while supplies last).

Tyson made headlines with WWE (NYSE: WWE) in early 1998 as part of the company’s groundbreaking “Attitude Era," a time period prominently featured in WWE ’13 through a brand new single-player campaign. He is best remembered for his appearances leading up to and at WrestleMania® XIV, where he was recruited by D-Generation X (DX) to serve as a ringside enforcer during the main event match between DX member Shawn Michaels® and Stone Cold Steve Austin® for the WWE Championship. Tyson, sporting a sleeveless DX t-shirt and black jeans – the same look as his playable character in WWE ’13 – interfered in the match, allowing Austin to secure the victory and ultimately abandoning his presumed alliance with the renegade faction. Tyson returned to WWE on January 11, 2010 as a guest host on Monday Night Raw® and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 2, 2012.

“As one of the most dominant champions in boxing history and one of the most memorable guests to ever be featured on WWE programming, Mike Tyson led an incredible revolution that changed the way fans perceive the sport,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President, Global Brand Management, THQ. “He was a tremendous addition to the ‘Attitude Era’ and is certain to attract a wide variety of fans to ‘live the revolution’ offered in WWE ’13.”

“The baddest man on the planet is back – and only in WWE ’13,” said Mike Tyson. “Fans everywhere can now relive what I experienced during the ‘Attitude Era.’”

Pre-orders for the WWE '13 video game continue to be much higher than they were last year. As of last week, they were up 171% - which is 170% on Xbox 360, 189% on Playstation 3 and 84% on the Nintendo Wii. The numbers are being attributed to CM Punk's involvement with the game and the recent segment on RAW, the game's Attitude Era features and the social media push that has been behind the game.

It has been reported that WWE’13 will have 2 variations of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Lately people were complaining about Stone Cold having one knew brace version, well WWE’13 will have One knee brace version as well as two knee braces version. According to Cory Ledesma: We have both variations of Stone Cold Steve Austin in the game for those that keep asking. One knee brace version and two knee braces. This obviously means the two knee brace version is going to be an alternate attire for him.

It has been confirmed that Iron Mike Tyson, who was announced as a pre-order bonus for Xbox360 and PS3 version, will be available in the default in game roster on the Wii Version. Much like The Rock was in the previous year’s WWE’12 video game, The Rock was announced as the pre-order bonus for Xbox360 and PS3 version only to be available as a DLC after 90 days of the release. The Rock was also included in the default version of Wii, in WWE’12. Expect something similar this year with MIKE TYSON.
