Nach Auftritt bei IMPACT: Kenny King von ROH entlassen | Update vom 04.11.2012: News zum Status von Kenny King

Wie PWInsider berichtet, wurde ROH Wrestler Kenny King, der in der aktuellen IMPACT Wrestling Episode im Rahmen der TNA X-Division Championship Tournament Qualifying Matches aufgetreten ist und sich nach einem Sieg über Lars Only für das 8-Mann Turnier um den vakanten TNA X-Division Championship Titel bei TNA Destination X 2012 qualifiziert hat, unmittelbar nach seinem Auftritt bei IMPACT Wrestling von seinem bisherigen Arbeitgeber Ring Of Honor entlassen.

Laut Berichten soll der aktuelle Vertrag von Kenny King bei Ring Of Honor vor exakt elf Tagen ausgelaufen sein. Allerdings sollen sich Ring Of Honor und Kenny King nach Ablauf des Vertrags mündlich auf eine kurzzeitige Vertragsverlängerung geeinigt haben, die es Kenny King erlaubt, in dieser Zeit mit anderen Wrestlingpromotions in Kontakt zu treten und Vertragsverhandlungen mit ihnen zu führen. Allerdings sei es ihm während dieser Zeit nicht erlaubt, ohne Erlaubnis von Ring Of Honor für andere Wrestlingpromotions anzutreten. Nach Ablauf dieser kurzzeitigen Vertragsverlängerung bei Ring Of Honor, wäre es für Kenny King dann möglich gewesen, bei einer Wrestlingpromotion seiner Wahl einen Vertrag zu unterzeichnen und für sie in den Ring zu steigen.

Nachdem Kenny King diese Vertragsklausel mit seinem Auftritt in der aktuellen IMPACT Wrestling Episode gebrochen hat, sah sich Ring Of Honor gezwungen, Kenny King umgehend zu entlassen und seine Dienste in Zukunft nicht mehr in Anspruch zu nehmen. Zur aktuellen Situation veröffentlichte Ring Of Honor folgendes offizielles Statement:

The appearance of ROH wrestler Kenny King on another television wrestling program tonight has raised speculation on his future as well as how this appearance could occur.

The contract Kenny King signed in June 2011 expired 11 days ago. Before that expiration, an agreement was reached between Kenny and ROH management for an extension of that contract, with a provision to allow him to negotiate with any other promotions so that he could evaluate his options and any potential interest in him elsewhere. When that short extension concluded he would then be free to accept an offer elsewhere, or sign another long term contract with ROH. Under this agreement, Kenny was free to negotiate but not to wrestle for another organization without ROH's permission.

When Kenny was presented with the written extension reflecting this verbal and handshake agreement, he informed ROH he was unsure if other promotions would accept the negotiation clause. He was told he could take the document to be examined by his attorney or other interested parties before executing it to be reassured any other offers would not be viewed as contract tampering. He also informed ROH that he would keep us apprised of any developments.

He contacted ROH on Tuesday July 3 to inform us that he had a meeting in Orlando on Thursday, July 5, which was within the scope of the agreement he had made. Then, early morning on July 5, he contacted an ROH official to say he would be wrestling on the Orlando event that night. He was told he did not have permission to appear live on television as it violated the agreement that had been made. His response was that the deal he had shaken hands on and agreed to in principle "seemed fair at the time", but "others" had told him it was not, so he did not intend to honor it.

Ring of Honor is disappointed that Kenny has chosen to make this decision, after the company had agreed to and followed through on everything he had asked for at the time of our negotiation. However, we consider this breach of his verbal agreement unacceptable, and regardless of his future employment status with any other wrestling company, ROH will not be doing business with Kenny King going forward.

A statement from ROH will be forthcoming regarding the future of the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Co-holder Rhett Titus remains on the active ROH roster.

Trotz seiner Entlassung bleibt Kenny King aktuell auch weiterhin zusammen mit Rhett Titus unter dem Tag Team Namen "The All-Night Express" amtierender ROH World Tag Team Champion. Was nun mit den ROH World Tag Team Championship Titeln nach diesem Vorfall geschehen wird, ist laut Ring Of Honor noch unklar.

Es scheint so, als sei Kenny King ein lukrativer Vertrag bei IMPACT Wrestling angeboten worden, welchen er auch in Kürze unterzeichnen wird.

Ist zwar schade für Ring Of Honor, aber für TNA und die angeschlagene X-Division wäre er eine große Bereicherung. Mal abwarten, wie weit er im X-Division Title Turnier kommen wird.

I was offered a contract extension, I had reservations about the parameters of the extension and effective my "free agent" option would be.

I gave a handshake agreement that I wouldn't do anything "screwy" with the belts. Ala Medusa.

I gave ROH information about everyone that I made regarding working for @impactwrestling. Realistically they could have just found out when they saw my black ass walking down to the ring.

I was given a physical contract extension by ROH, which I respectfully declined to sign due to the reasons I stated above.

If I declined to sign an actual contract extension, how could anyone think there was a verbal agreement?

I took the biggest gamble of my career this weekend. So going into destination X tomorrow night I am prepared to put it all on the line. I am especially grateful to @tnadixie and @impactwrestling for giving me the opportunity to showcase my skills on a bigger stage. I was given an amazing opening and I took it. Ask Eminem how many chances you get to blow up. The world will watch tomorrow, and I got a bag full of fireworks. Tomorrow is coronation day.

Kenny King hat nun via Twitter eine mögliche Wiedervereinigung von The All-Night Express bei TNA Wrestling angedeutet: "As far as I'm concerned, #ANX is NOT dead. Rhett is my brother, and us not working together in one place is not the end."

Ob Rhett Titus seinem ehemaligen Tag Team Partner Kenny King tatsächlich von Ring Of Honor zu TNA Wrestling folgen wird, bleibt abzuwarten.

The All-Night Express bei TNA wäre großartig. So hätte man zwei neue Leute für die Tag Team Division, die nebenbei auch in der X-Division mitmischen könnten.

Kenny King hat nun via Twitter erneut angedeutet, dass er fest bei TNA Wrestling unter Vertrag steht, indem er die Fans fragte, ob man ihm dabei helfen könnte, ein passendes Logo zu kreiren, welches man donnerstags auf seinem Hintern sehen könne:

"Any of my creative peeps wanna help me design a new logo? Possibly one that would be seen on or around my ass on Thursday's?"

Zudem wurde er noch von einem Fan gefragt, warum er bislang noch nicht das "ANX" aus seinem Twitter-Namen entfernt hat, jetzt wo das Tag Team "The All-Night Express" mit seinem Partner Rhett Titus "tot" sei. Kenny King antwortete darauf wie folgt:

Kenny King, der im Sommer einen Vertrag bei TNA Wrestling unterzeichnete und schon seit TNA HardCORE Justice 2012 im August nicht mehr in den Shows von TNA Wrestling zu sehen war, hat nun via Twitter ein kleines Update zu seinem Status bei TNA Wrestling gegeben:

"A lot of people been wondering where I've been....The thing is, my bank acct good. Don't worry where I've been. Worry about what's gonna happen to these dudes WHEN I come back."

Hoffentlich nicht. Für dieses (Jobber)Stable wäre er viel zu schade.

Er gehört in die X-Divison, nur schade, dass gewisse Leute bei TNA keine Ahnung haben und ihn trotz Vertrag in den vergangenen Wochen nicht eingesetzt haben. Ein X-Division Match pro IMPACT Wrestling Show sollte doch nun wirklich immer drin sein. Hoffentlich wird er nach seiner Rückkehr wenigstens öfters zu sehen sein und nicht wieder nur kurzzeitig.
