Former TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde Was Cut From WWE’s Mae Young Classic Due To Injury

It only takes a glance at WWE‘s Mae Young Classic field to see that it is stacked with former Impact Wrestling Knockouts … and Taylor Wilde was almost one of them!

The former Knockouts Champion revealed today on Twitter that similar to Serena Deeb, she was looking to come out of retirement for WWE’s women’s tournament. However, the plans were scrapped after she sustained an injury while training.

She tweeted, “I was considered to partake in the Mae Young Classic. Due to an injury sustained in training, retirement is where I will stay. However, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t consider other opportunities. I’m just retired as in-ring talent.”

Kairi Sane Sustained A Concussion During Mae Young Classic Tapings

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Kairi Sane is currently on the injured list after the recent WWE signee sustained a concussion during the Mae Young Classic tapings.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us the wrestler formerly known as Kairi Hojo is also dealing with some neck pain … but officials expect her to be cleared for return in early August.

It’s unclear which match the injury occurred during, or how exactly it went down.

Kairi Sane Cleared For In-Ring Action

Recent NXT signee Kairi Sane is proving that you can’t keep a good pirate princess down … because she’s officially been cleared for in-ring action again.

WWE announced today that Sane will be wrestling in St. Petersburg, FL on Thursday, her first match since getting injured last month.

As we previously reported, Kairi sustained a concussion during the tapings for the Mae Young Classic, but it was expected that she would be cleared by early August.

That timeline appears to have been correct and it appears to be smooth sailing as Kairi helps hold down the home port this weekend while the rest of the crew is in California.
