ZitatAlles anzeigenWWE change Superstar's in-ring name
Another Superstar gets their name shortened.
It looks like WWE have changed the name of another of their Superstars after a main-roster debut. This time, the Superstar concerned is Elias Samson who will now just be known as "Elias". Elias Samson made his main-roster debut soon after WrestleMania 33 when he was seen lurking around on RAW. Soon after his debut, Samson got embroiled in a feud with Finn Balor which now looks to have culminated with Samson getting a win on RAW earlier this week, albeit with a little help from Bray Wyatt. The week before the No DQ match, Samson had taken Balor out by hitting him with a guitar.
According to an update to his bio section on WWE.com, it looks like Elias Samson will just go under the name "Elias" now. He joins others like Cesaro, Rusev and Big E who've had their names shortened.
Elias has done well for himself since his main roster debut and his run on the main-roster looks much more promising than his time in NXT. It's unclear what the plans are for Elias Samson going into SummerSlam. As far as Finn Balor is concerned, he'll almost definitely face Bray Wyatt at the biggest event of the summer.
WWE have handled Elias Samson really well since his main-roster debut. However, this thing WWE has with shortening wrestlers names is something we'll just have to get used to, whether we like it or not.

ZitatAlles anzeigenWWE Rumor Mill: Adam Cole "on his way" to WWE?
Another former Bullet Club member is headed to the world's biggest pro-wrestling promotion.
It has been speculated for the last couple of months that former ROH World Champion Adam Cole is set to join the WWE. The recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed this rumour yet again and claimed that Cole is indeed "on his way" to the world 's biggest promotion. However, it has been pointed out by stillrealtous.com that acquiring Cole's services has not been a cakewalk for WWE and if it weren't for ROH, Cole would have been listed on WWE's roster page already.
Adam Cole is a former three-time Ring Of Honor World Champion who was a member of the Bullet Club until his departure from the promotion. One of the hottest free agents in wrestling right now, he has elicited interest from WWE for a while, with even Vince McMahon reportedly being a fan of his. In recent weeks, WWE has managed to sign two of the most popular ROH stars of recent years, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish. It has been reported that Donovan Dijak and Lio Rush are on the cusp of joining the yellow brand as well.
According to stillrealtous.com, earlier this year, WWE contacted the current IWGP Tag Team Champions War Machine with a potential contract on offer. Upon learning about this communication, ROH legally threatened WWE which lead the latter to calm their approach. However, citing the recent NXT debuts of O'Reilly and Fish, it can be deduced that everything is resolved and WWE is no more hesitant in bringing the talent who have previously worked for ROH onboard. Due to the aforementioned development, Cole's debut is imminent with NXT being his most likely destination.
The rumours regarding Adam Cole's joining have been circulating for quite a while now. In one of the interviews this year, Cole expressed his interest in being part of the NXT and admitted being a fan of the brand. Since Cole hasn't appeared for any major promotions recently, it is very likely that we will see him in a WWE ring soon.
Adam Cole is an exciting talent who possesses both, adept in-ring acumen and proficient mic skills. WWE would be very lucky to get their hands on the young wrestler as he has proved on multiple occasions that he is indeed capable of performing on the biggest stage.
One could argue that Cole is good enough to debut on the main-roster right away.

ZitatAlles anzeigenWWE Rumor Mill: Bad news on Chris Jericho’s schedule
Chris Jericho is back, but for how long?
Chris Jericho returned to WWE programming this Tuesday and there’s been a small update regarding how long he’ll stick around. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jericho’s return may be short-lived.
Jericho’s previous run began in January 2016 and lasted for more than a year until he lost the United States Championship to Kevin Owens on an episode of SmackDown. Jericho left the company in May to go on tour with his band and returned this past Tuesday to challenge Owens to a rematch for the United States Championship. He competed in a triple threat match in the main event of SmackDown, but was pinned by AJ Styles.
On an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said that Jericho’s return came without any indication and that he didn’t have any clear news regarding his return to the WWE.
“I’m not sure what his schedule is right now. I mean, he’s not advertised or listed for any shows going forward, but the reaction was certainly like he’s back. I know he’s still got concert stuff coming up, but aside from that, I don’t know if he’s got anything until September”
Meltzer reported that Jericho will be touring with his band in October through November so Jericho could stick around for the SmackDown pay-per-view after SummerSlam; which has yet to be announced.
Tune in next week Tuesday to see what Jericho will have to say about losing to Styles and costing his former best friend the United States Championship. If Jericho is wrestling at SummerSlam, he may continue his involvement in the United States Championship picture.
Jericho’s presence this week was a much-needed source of unpredictable entertainment that SmackDown had been lacking these past few weeks. The Gift of Jericho is back for now and the fans are drinking it in.
