The Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC announced today that the Saturday, November 25th live event will have a Starrcade theme to it. The Coliseum was the original home of the Starrcade event back in 1983. No word yet on if this will be a WWE Network special but we will keep you updated.

RAW Tag Team Challenges WWE Hall Of Famers To Match

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have issued a challenge to WWE Hall of Famers The Rock 'n' Roll Express for the Saturday, November 25th Starrcade live event from Greensboro, North Carolina. WWE's announcement on the special SmackDown live event did note that Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton would be in attendance. Below are tweets from Anderson and Gallows on the challenge:

As noted, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson issued a Twitter challenge to WWE Hall of Famers The Rock 'n' Roll Express on Tuesday for a match at the November 25th WWE Starrcade live event in Greensboro, NC. WWE previously announced that both Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson would be in attendance for the event. Morton replied to the challenge earlier, seen below:

We are told the Rock N' Roll Express vs;. Gallows and Anderson match is official for the 11/25 WWE Starrcade event in Greensboro, NC. The two teams began teasing it on social media last night.

As of today, the show is only scheduled to be a jazzed-up live event for that market.

There are no plans currently for the show to air live on the WWE Network.

WWE has not filed a new trademark on the "Starrcade" name as of this writing, either.

The final Starrcade was held in December 2000 in Washington, DC.

In playing off the main event of the original Starrcade, featuring Ric Flair vs. Harley Race in a steel cage, the Smackdown brand event will be headlined by two steel cage matches: WWE champion Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE Smackdown Women's champion Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair, Ric Flair's daughter.

Starrcade holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of old school wrestling fans and was held on PPV from 1987 to 2000. It had traditionally been centered in Greensboro until 1987, when the decision was made to move it to Chicago to originate it from a "big city", a decision that was criticized at the time by fans.

Matches currently advertised for the event feature:

*WWE United States champion AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. Rusev.

*Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn.

*WWE Tag Team champions The New Day vs. The Usos.

*Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler.

*Breezango vs. Aiden English & Mike Kanellis.

*WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat to appear.

While this is the first time WWE has utilized the Starrcade name for a live event, the company released a DVD dedicated to it in 2012 and all of the Starrcade events are available to stream on the WWE Network.
