Jeff Hardy Dealing With Significant Shoulder Injury … Surgery Might Be Needed

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Jeff Hardy is currently dealing with a bad shoulder injury and sources tell us the wrestler may need to get surgery.

WWE held a live event in Sacramento on Friday night, but Jeff was unable to wrestle due to his banged up shoulder … so Matt wrestled Karl Anderson in a singles match instead.

It’s unclear exactly when the injury occurred, but Jeff certainly appeared to be clutching his shoulder in pain during the main event of Monday Night Raw this week.

Our sources say it’s unclear if the Charismatic Enigma will need surgery at this point. However, it’s definitely an option — amongst a few others — and they should know more in the days to come.

There's more news on Jeff Hardy's injury.

Jeff Hardy's injury came out of nowhere and it wasn't a good news for anyone. But when it was reported more than a few people were very concerned. Now, Dave Meltzer has more news on the subject on Wrestling Observer Radio.

It was reported last week that Jeff Hardy had sustained some kind of shoulder injury and although the details weren't spoken about in much detail he was still pulled from this weekend's house shows causing Matt Hardy to wrestle in singles matches.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jeff Hardy's injury was actually sustained at Great Balls Of Fire in the exact same match where Sheamus busted the Charismatic Egnima open the hard way.

It's still not clear if Hardy will require surgery but if he does require some sort of procedure it might cost him several months of time in the ring.

Jeff Hardy will keep on and hopefully, his injury isn't very serious. But he's been working with it for quite some time apparently and it's just gotten bad enough to cause an issue. Let's just hope it's not a serious one.

Jeff Hardy to undergo surgery for torn rotator cuff

Jeff Hardy has suffered a torn rotator cuff and will undergo surgery to repair it, WWE.com has learned.

The former Raw Tag Team Champion sustained the injury during a Six-Pack Challenge on last week's Raw that was eventually won by Jason Jordan.

"Jeff is dealing with a rotator cuff tear right now," said WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Stephen Daquino. "It's a full thickness tear of his supraspinatus tendon and a couple of other areas in the shoulder. He's going to go for evaluation and probably for surgery next week."

Hardy added that he also tore his labrum and that he initially thought he dislocated his shoulder during the match.

"Once they get in there, they'll figure out more about what they have to repair," said Hardy. "But for sure, the rotator cuff has to be repaired, and then they'll look at the labrum when they get in there."

Hardy also revealed he would undergo the procedure next Tuesday, Oct. 3.

"It's depressing," Hardy told WWE.com. "More than any time in a career, it's those times that make you go, 'Wow, I love professional wrestling.' It sucks that I can't be involved in [a] match or can't get in there and do what I normally do because I'm injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder."

However, as the road to recovery looms, Hardy would not rule out the possibility that the WWE Universe would see him on TV in a different capacity while he heals.

"There's a lot of crazy ideas," said Hardy. "It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining."

News On How Long Jeff Hardy Might Be Out Of Action

As noted, WWE confirmed that Jeff Hardy has suffered a torn rotator cuff and will undergo surgery to repair it. Hardy will have the surgery performed next Tuesday.

According to WWE, the injury occurred during the Six-Pack Challenge match on last week's RAW.

"Jeff is dealing with a rotator cuff tear right now," said WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Stephen Daquino. "It's a full thickness tear of his supraspinatus tendon and a couple of other areas in the shoulder."

Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury actually occurred during the 30 minute Iron Man match at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view in July and he's been working with it since then.

Hardy said that his rotator cuff will definitely be repaired, and added that he may have dislocated his shoulder and also tore his labrum during the match.
