While she’s made appearances in the Mae Young Classic and recent episodes of NXT, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via SportsKeeda) reports that Candice LeRae still hasn’t signed with the WWE. LeRae made it all the way to the semifinals of the Classic, defeating Renee Michelle and Nicole Savoy but losing to Shayna Baszler. The Observer noted that LeRae is currently in NXT for enhancement work.
The report read: “She always get a big reaction and looks good and wrestles better than most, but sometimes the decision making isn’t the easiest to figure out.“

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, here is the latest on the WWE statuses of Toni Storm & Piper Niven. Storm & Niven were told that WWE would be in contact with them following the Mae Young Classic but they have reportedly not been contacted by WWE since the conclusion of the tournament. Talent are told by WWE to stay quiet about a deal if one has been signed, but the feeling is that is not the case here as neither of them are telling promoters that they aren’t available for future dates.

WWE passed on signing top Japanese women's wrestler Io Shirai due to an issue they found with her heart during pre-signing medical tests, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It had been reported that there were issues with Shirai's back but the problems were heart-related. Shirai has been cleared by doctors in Japan for her neck and her heart but WWE doctors advised on not signing her.
Shirai had reportedly been offered a deal at the same time Kairi Sane was offered her contract. Shirai participated in a WWE Performance Center tryout this past March. It was reported that she accepted a deal but the offer was rescinded due to her medical examination.

SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon took to Twitter today and announced AJ Styles vs. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for next Tuesday's taped SmackDown episode from Manchester, England. The match was made after Jinder and The Singh Brothers attacked AJ following his win over Samir Singh on this week's blue brand show.
