    Der erste Pay-Per-View des WWE Jahres beginnt mit einem Rückblick auf vergangene Royal Rumble Events und auf die Aktionen von Randy Orton gegen WWE-Chairman Mr. McMahon in der letzten Ausgabe von Monday Night RAW.

    Jack Swagger (c) besiegt Matt Hardy via Pinfall nach einer Gutwrench Powerbomb


    WWE Women’s Championship Match
    Melina besiegt Beth Phoenix (c) (w/ Santino Marella) via Einroller –--> TITELWECHSEL!!!


    Es folgt ein Rückblick auf die Entwicklungen zwischen John „Bradshaw“ Layfield und seinem neuen Arbeitnehmer Shawn Michaels. Auch die Fehde zwischen John Cena und JBL wird noch einmal in Erinnerung gerufen. Daraufhin schwört JBL den Heartbreak Kid auf das World Title Match ein: Wenn JBL heute den Titel gewinnt, verspricht er Shawn Michaels eine Menge Geld, „die Freiheit“ und einen Platz im Royal Rumble Match. JBL verlässt den Raum und es kommt zu einem plötzlichen Staredown zwischen dem Undertaker und Shawn Michaels.


    Ein WrestleMania XXV Spot wird gezeigt.


    World Heavyweight Championship Match
    John Cena (c) besiegt John “Bradshaw” Layfield (w/ Shawn Michaels). Während des Matches geht Referee Mike Chioda k.O. Shawn Michaels nutzt dies, geht in den Ring und verpasst JBL eine Sweet Chin Music. Es folgt eine weitere Sweet Chin Music gegen John Cena. Dann rollt HBK den Arm von JBL auf den Oberkörper von Cena. Dieser kann nach dem Two Count auskicken. Es folgt der FU und der Sieg Cenas via Pinfall.


    Nach dem Match folgt ein Trailer zum Spiel „Legends of WrestleMania“ und der Rückblick auf die bisherige Fehde zwischen Jeff Hardy und Edge. Nach dem Entrance von Jeff Hardy kommt SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero in die Halle und verkündet, dass es sich beim folgenden Match um ein No Disqualification Match handeln wird.


    WWE Championship – No Disqualification Match
    Edge (w/ Chavo Guerrero) besiegt Jeff Hardy (c) via Pinfall nach einem Stuhlschlag von Matt Hardy gegen seinen Bruder –--> TITELWECHSEL!!!


    In einem Trailer werden Elimination Chamber Matches um den WWE Title und um den World Heavyweight Title für WWE No Way Out 2009 angekündigt.


    Backstage wird Randy Orton von Todd Grisham interviewt. Todd meint, es gäbe morgen bei RAW Konsequenzen für die Attacke von Orton gegen Mr. McMahon. Chris Jericho stößt hinzu und erklärt, dass er die Aktion von Orton gut fand. Allerdings weist er auf die Führungsstärke der McMahons hin und befürchtet demnächst die Entlassung von Randy Orton.
