Candice LeRae Still Hasn’t Signed With WWE Yet

While she’s made appearances in the Mae Young Classic and recent episodes of NXT, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via SportsKeeda) reports that Candice LeRae still hasn’t signed with the WWE. LeRae made it all the way to the semifinals of the Classic, defeating Renee Michelle and Nicole Savoy but losing to Shayna Baszler. The Observer noted that LeRae is currently in NXT for enhancement work.

The report read: “She always get a big reaction and looks good and wrestles better than most, but sometimes the decision making isn’t the easiest to figure out.“

Update on The WWE Statuses of Toni Storm & Piper Niven

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, here is the latest on the WWE statuses of Toni Storm & Piper Niven. Storm & Niven were told that WWE would be in contact with them following the Mae Young Classic but they have reportedly not been contacted by WWE since the conclusion of the tournament. Talent are told by WWE to stay quiet about a deal if one has been signed, but the feeling is that is not the case here as neither of them are telling promoters that they aren’t available for future dates.

Why WWE Passed On A Top Japanese Wrestler

WWE passed on signing top Japanese women's wrestler Io Shirai due to an issue they found with her heart during pre-signing medical tests, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It had been reported that there were issues with Shirai's back but the problems were heart-related. Shirai has been cleared by doctors in Japan for her neck and her heart but WWE doctors advised on not signing her.

Shirai had reportedly been offered a deal at the same time Kairi Sane was offered her contract. Shirai participated in a WWE Performance Center tryout this past March. It was reported that she accepted a deal but the offer was rescinded due to her medical examination.

WWE Title Match Announced For Tuesday's Taped SmackDown, Survivor Series Qualifier Changed?

SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon took to Twitter today and announced AJ Styles vs. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for next Tuesday's taped SmackDown episode from Manchester, England. The match was made after Jinder and The Singh Brothers attacked AJ following his win over Samir Singh on this week's blue brand show.

Impact Wrestling Looking to Possibly Work With ROH

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Impact Wrestling is trying to open the doors to work with ROH.

There were talks of the two sides working together many months ago, and a deal was worked out for the Hardys vs. Young Bucks to do a lengthy program and both companies would work together. But the Hardys left Impact and then Impact sent out a legal letter after the Hardys had left, this caused Dish Network to pull the PPV show with the Hardys vs. Young Bucks at the last minute.

Sonjay Dutt, who works in Impact creative, has a long-time connection with Hunter Johnston who books ROH.

Backstage News on Undertaker at Raw's 25th Anniversary Show & Any Potential Return

Due to the fact that Raw's 25th anniversary show is only a couple of months before WrestleMania 34, it will become clear at that time whether the Undertaker is going to be wrestling in April or not.

If the plan is for Undertaker to wrestle at Mania, there will likely be some sort of angle shot to set that up though at this point, it seems the only logical opponent for him would be Roman Reigns, who is already pencilled in to face Brock Lesnar.

While the feeling is that Undertaker is "retired", he's gone through these motions before in years past but due to the significant amount of money he makes for that one match, it becomes very tempting for him to "get fixed up and try again."

Official WarGames Match rules for NXT TakeOver

The WarGames Match returns at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in Houston, and WWE.com has the official rules for the massive three-team showdown.

It has been a while – almost 20 years, in fact – since fans have been able to experience a live WarGames Match, so consider this a refresher course. There are also a few added wrinkles to this epic match that you may not see when watching past WarGames clashes on the award-winning WWE Network.

The rules of the match are as follows:

* The three-member teams of SAnitY (Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain), Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly), and The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) & Roderick Strong will wage war inside a massive steel cage that surrounds TWO rings.

* All three teams will be contained inside separate shark cages by the entranceway, with a member from each team (as chosen by his respective squad) starting the match.

* After five minutes, the remaining members from one team will be released from their shark cage and allowed to enter the match.

* When another three-minute period elapses, the remaining members from a second team are released from their shark cage and enter the match.

* Following another three-minute period, the final team's members are released from their shark cage and enter the match.

* Once all three teams have entered the WarGames Match, a victory can be attained via pinfall or submission.

Bray Wyatt Returns From Illness At Live Event (VIDEO)

Bray Wyatt returned to the ring on Wednesday, over one week after missing TLC due to an illness, and he went up against a star-powered trio.

Wyatt teamed with The Bar at a live event in Glasgow and they faced-off against The Shield, who had granted Triple H an honorary spot in the group.

As we previously reported, Bray and Roman Reigns were unable to wrestle at TLC due to viral illnesses they both caught. His brother Bo Dallas, who had been sick as well, also returned this week.

No word on whether Wyatt’s feud with Finn Balor will resume.

MORE IMPACT EXITS, IS FORMER TNA CHAMPION NEXT?

Marshe Rockett, who had worked for Impact Wrestling in the X-Division during the Billy Corgan regime, announced a few hours ago that he was done with the company.

MJ Jenkins, a Knockout who had hardly been used, was also released this week. Jenkins made her IMPACT debut at One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 2017 where she was defeated by Rosemary. She had a handful of other matches in the company, which saw her wrestle against Angelina Love and Laurel Van Ness on Xplosion in singles matches, and team up with ODB to take on Angelina Love & Laurel Van Ness.

Referee Robert King announced his departure from the company as well, citing on Twitter that he felt that he would never be signed to a contract and that it was time to move on:

Referee Brian Hebner also announced via Twitter that he had requested and received his release from Impact Wrestling. As PWInsider.com had previously reported, as part of financial cutbacks for this month's events in Ottawa, Impact intends to use Canadian referees who are local for the Bound for Glory PPV and subsequent TV tapings this week. Hebner had been with the company for a number of years. His father, Earl Hebner, was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame several years ago. One has to think his status with the company is also in question at this point.

With so many releases exits lately, PWInsider.com has been told the next major name to keep an eye on is former TNA champion James Storm. Storm's deal with the company, we are told, expires in January 2018, but with this coming week's TV tapings covering the next several months of episodes, they may actually end up being his final official dates for the company. Storm has been with Impact since TNA was founded in June 2002, with the exception of a short break after his contract expired, where he worked several NXT tapings and was offered a WWE deal before opting to sign his current Impact deal.

As PWInsider.com broke several days ago, Rockstar Spud was also released. We are told that was done as Spud's request and the release came through about three weeks ago.

These departures follow other recent exits that include Low Ki, Eddie Kingston and Jeff Jarrett.

Backstage News On Sunday's WWE Releases, What Emma Did To Make Her Backstage Heat Worse, More

As noted, WWE announced on Sunday that they have parted ways with Emma, Summer Rae and Darren Young. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports that Emma's departure had been in the works for some time as she had significant heat with company officials. The doors reportedly remain open for Emma to return down the line but some see her departure as "addition by subtraction" in the locker room.

Emma reportedly created enemies on the WWE writing staff and made those issues worse with the way she spoke out on Twitter. Emma did have as much respect as an in-ring performer as any other female Superstars in the locker room but her release sent a message to the locker room.

The decision to release Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae reportedly came on Friday during Vince McMahon's routine budget meeting. The Superstars were told on Sunday before they would have needed to fly out for work on Monday. WWE then made the announcements on their website and social media accounts.

There are backstage rumors that WWE will possibly be releasing more talent over the next two weeks. It is believed that those released will be under utilized wrestlers whom the company has very little creative plans for. The releases could come as early as next week and it's possible that those who are not on the current European tour will lead the list of candidates who might be parting ways with the company.

The highly popular WarGames Match is back, and it’s returning in the biggest way imaginable.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, the teams of SAnitY, The Undisputed ERA and The Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong will wage war inside the hellacious steel structure that surrounds not one, but two rings.

The WarGames Match is as barbaric as it is historic, dating back to the days of the NWA before becoming a staple in WCW. The unique and unforgiving contest features two rings, side-by-side, enclosed by a giant steel cage. At TakeOver: WarGames in Houston, each group selects one member to start the bout inside the cage, while the remaining team members are locked inside shark cages by the entranceway. After five minutes, the final two members from one team enter the match, giving that group a brief yet brutal advantage. Three minutes later, the second team’s members are released, followed by the final team’s competitors following another three-minute period. Once all nine Superstars are inside the ruthless steel structure, the first competitor to pick up a pinfall or submission earns the victory for his side.

This showdown has been months in the making, starting after Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly attacked NXT Tag Team Champions SAnitY and NXT Champion Drew McIntyre at TakeOver: Brooklyn III. The talented trio made it clear that they intended to shock the system of the black-and-yellow brand, and they did just that, shaking NXT to its very core. Their actions drew the ire of Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain, who sought not only chaos, but retribution. However, it was the returning Authors of Pain, seeking their own payback from SAnitY for taking their titles, that would turn NXT into a warzone.

On the Nov. 1 episode of WWE NXT, all hell broke loose during SAniTy’s NXT Tag Team Title defense against The Authors of Pain as The Undisputed ERA interrupted the contest before Akam & Rezar could pick up the potential win. Adding to the mayhem was the arrival of Roderick Strong. For weeks, The Undisputed ERA had seemingly been recruiting Strong, but when The Messiah of the Backbreaker had convinced the trio he would join their ranks, he unleashed his own assault on them.

NXT General Manager William Regal had seen enough of the pure bedlam. At that point, he declared that SAnitY, The Undisputed ERA and The Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong would battle in a three-team WarGames Match in Houston.

With WarGames returning for the first time in more than 20 years, you can expect to see pain, chaos and, yes, a shock to the system. It all goes down at TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 ET/5 PT, on the award-winning WWE Network.

Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream

Velveteen Dream has succeeded in getting Aleister Black’s attention, but come NXT Takeover WarGames, the purple-clad provocateur might wish that he hadn’t.

Black issued his most forceful response yet to the Dream’s campaign on the Nov. 1 edition of NXT, proclaming at TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday, Nov. 18 he will make sure the NXT Universe never forgets Velveteen Dream's name.

The Dutch destroyer’s strong words came a week after Velveteen Dream blindsided him and ran him into the steel ring steps. Velveteen Dream then tied Black’s arms in the ring ropes, slapped him in the face and demanded he utter the Dream’s name. The ambush made Black, who is undefeated in NXT competition, look more vulnerable than the NXT Universe has ever seen him.

Black has maintained a steely composure while racking up one of NXT’s best win-loss records, so picking a fight with the black-metal mutilator might seem like a recipe for disaster. Yet, the Dream is a Superstar unlike any other. Beyond all the head games and unorthodox antics, he remains among the brand’s most gifted competitors. Could his outrageous bid for recognition simply be a ploy to keep one step ahead of the death-metal mutilator? Perhaps just as importantly, will Velveteen Dream make Black say his name in Houston?

From the WWE Rumor Mill: Huge update on Nikki Bella's SmackDown GM storyline

Nikki Bella as SmackDown Live GM could give the brand a new direction.

Nikki Bella is being considered as a potential replacement for Daniel Bryan for the position of SmackDown Live’s General Manager.

According to Dave Meltzer in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nikki Bella will be actively shown as pursuing the SmackDown GM role on the latest Season of Total Divas which commences on Wednesday, November 1st.

Daniel Bryan currently serves as the blue brand’s on-screen General Manager, however, his contract with the WWE runs out next year, and the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is rumoured to be leaving the WWE in order to resume wrestling on the indies.

Meanwhile, Nikki Bella is on hiatus from wrestling, rehabilitating after a few nagging injuries.

As per the vast majority of industry experts, Nikki Bella, who’s been off WWE’s main roster television programming since Wrestlemania 33 earlier this year, is reportedly the most likely candidate to assume the position of SmackDown Live’s General Manager.

Season 7 of Total Divas premieres on November 1st, featuring 12 episodes that will air periodically until January 31st, 2018—with Nikki Bella as one of the main stars of the show.

The show is rumoured to chronicle Nikki’s pursuit of the SmackDown Live GM position, which in turn is being heralded as a surefire sign that the WWE may indeed be interested in according said role to the former Divas Champion.

Kane's Current WWE Run, News on Braun Strowman, The Shield's Reunion Match

Kane's current run with WWE is not expected to be a long run as he pretty much wraps up his in-ring wrestling career with WWE. While some have questioned why a star clearly in the twilight of his career is beating talent like Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, apparently the reason is that WWE is trying to build up Kane as unstoppable until he eventually loses to Braun Strowman. That match is likely to be a TV match on Raw in December but not before Kane beats at least one other top wrestler, perhaps Dean Ambrose.

Further to that, on the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez speculated that on his way out, Kane will not only get destroyed by the Shield but he could also wrestle a rematch against Finn Balor, where Balor defeats him as The Demon to sort of get the last laugh.

Also in related news with Kane, the speculation now is that he will be teaming up with Cesaro & Sheamus to take on Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose & the returning Roman Reigns in the Shield's reunion match. Originally, it was planned to be The Miz in that match but with Braun Strowman now a babyface, it's possible that Strowman and Miz will begin a short program instead.

We've noted how there has been talk of bringing back Erick Rowan and Luke Harper as the big reveal in The Fashion Files storyline with Breezango. From the Indie Rumor Mill: Ricochet reportedly turns down Impact Wrestling deal

Ricochet to the WWE now seems like a done deal?

It's been a whirlwind week of news surrounding the future of top independent wrestler Ricochet, with us reporting that it looks like he'll be joining WWE for the Royal Rumble and then new reports suggesting that he was in talks with Impact Wrestling. So what exactly is going on?

Ricochet, also known as Prince Puma from his stint in Lucha Underground has wrapped up his obligations with NJPW and Lucha Underground, meaning that there's now intense speculation about what his next move in the wrestling business will be. The prevailing consensus is that he is heading towards WWE.

It seems that Ricochet was in talks with Impact, putting a potential bump in the road in his journey towards the WWE as their rival wrestling company looked keen to beat them to the post. However, new reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Cageside Seats) suggest that the WWE dream is still very much alive:

If these reports are to be believed, Ricochet has turned down Impact Wrestling, which leaves him with one of two places to go, either Ring of Honor or WWE.

WWE LOOKING AT INTERNATIONAL ADDITIONS TO 205 LIVE

PWInsider.com broke yesterday that Rockstar Spud recently received a release from Impact Wrestling. We have since heard from multiple sources that WWE is looking to sign the British star with the idea of adding him to the 205 Live roster. Spud was the first winner of British Boot Camp, the Impact Wrestling reality series and worked for the company in a number of roles from 2012 through earlier this year. He's extremely versatile and would be a great pick-up.

WWE is also looking at moving Japanese star Hideo Itami up from NXT with the idea that he would join the Raw brand as a member of the Cruiserweight division, PWInsider.com has confirmed. The idea has been pitched several times of late and we are hearing that while there is no current debut date set, the plan is to move Itami up as soon as creative is in place.
