One of Shane McMahon or Daniel Bryan will reportedly give in to the dark side.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, either Shane McMahon or Daniel Bryan could be set for a heel turn.

During the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon drew first blood by laying siege to the flagship show, effectively establishing himself as the de-facto heel for Survivor Series.

There also appeared to be some underlying tension between the Prodigal Son and Daniel Bryan — who had no knowledge of McMahon's plan to attack Monday Night Raw — during the most recent episode of SmackDown Live.

While he was clearly the babyface during his feud with Kevin Owens, Shane McMahon displayed no empathy when Sami Zayn complained about the false promises he had been made in the "land of opportunity." While none of this is substantive evidence of a heel turn in progress, these subtle hints could always lead to something. Lest we forget, Shane McMahon has portrayed a villain for the majority of his WWE career.

Given his actions on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon is the more likely of the two turn heel. While Bryan's frustrations with McMahon in recent weeks could be used as fuel for a heel turn, the former ROH World Champion is so popular among the fans that he cannot portray anything other than a babyface.

Daniel Bryan's contract with WWE also reportedly expires in September of 2018. As of this writing, there is no guarantee that he will renew his deal.

SmackDown will do battle with Monday Night Raw at Survivor Series on November 19, 2017. Reports suggest that Shane McMahon and Kurt Angle will both be involved in the Men's 5-on-5 Elimination match.

WWE Announces Releases

WWE just announced that Emma has been released from her contract.

The company put out a statement saying, “WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Emma. WWE wishes Emma the best in all of her future endeavors.”

The 28-year-old, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, had a rough stint in WWE. After a successful run in NXT, she was brought to the main roster and paired with Santino Marella. A year later she was sent back to NXT and debuted her Evil version of the character.

Emma returned to the main roster in 2016 but failed to get much of a push. She was supposed to debut a new character earlier this year named Emmalina, but plans were scrapped.

Last Sunday, Emma lost to Asuka in her main roster debut at WWE TLC. She then demanded a rematch and lost the following night to Asuka on Raw, which was her last TV appearance. Emma has yet to comment on any of her social media accounts on the release.

It’s unclear what led to her release.

WWE just announced that Darren Young has been released from his contract.

The company released a statement saying they’ve come to terms on his release and wish him “the best” in all his future endeavors.”

Young made his WWE debut in 2010 during the first season of NXT, with CM Punk as his mentor, and went on to be part of the Nexus stable.

After splitting from the group, Darren and Titus O’Neil formed the Primetime Players. The tag team were on-again, off-again for the next few years.

When that ran its course, Young was paired with Bob Backlund and the duo attempted to “Make Darren Young Great Again.” The 33-year-old wrestler got injured in January though and things were halted. He was cleared for action in August, but hasn’t been used on TV since.

WWE just announced that Summer Rae has been released from her contract.

The company put out a statement saying they’ve come to terms on her release and wish Summer “the best” in all her future endeavors.”

The 33-year-old made her debut in 2013 as Fandango‘s dance partner. After splitting with the wrestler, she eventually landed a role in the Marine 4 in 2015.

That same year she got involved with Rusev on TV and formed an on-screen relationship. When Lana and Rusev’s real-life engagement was announced by TMZ though, the storyline fell apart.

She wasn’t used much afterward and eventually got injured in 2016.

No word on the reason for her release at this point.

From the Impact Wrestling Rumor Mill: Negotiations held with possible WWE target

Will Impact Wrestling steal one from under WWE's nose?

According to incoming reports from PWInsider, Impact Wrestling is reportedly looking to sign up Richochet, popularly known as Prince Puma.

The former Lucha Underground Champion is currently a free agent after he finished up his contractual obligations with the company and has also wrapped his dates with NJPW.

The report from PWInsider states that Impact and Ricochet had a round of talks regarding a possible deal but nothing more was revealed about the details. Conflicting details from Wrestling Observer claim that Puma is all set to make his WWE debut next year.

The indie Superstar has told independent bookers that he won't be working any dates after January. Mid-January is when his no-compete clause with LU reportedly expires.

WWE seems to be keen on signing up one of the best wrestlers in the world but not without some healthy competition with their perennial rivals, Impact.

For all its worth, WWE may have already penned a deal with Ricochet for a debut that has been long coming. However, the WWE Universe will sadly have to wait until January to see the high-flying 29-year-old in action.

He even won the PWG Championship last week from Chuck Taylor and should be preoccupied with it in the meantime.

For all those who are oblivious to Ricochet's credentials, the American wrestler is a two-time LU World Champion, six-time NJPW Tag team champion (IWGP and NEVER combined) and is considered to be one of the best high-flyers, if not the best in the world.

Who will end up getting the services of the exciting prospect? WWE or Impact? Only time will tell.

Report: Previously Planned Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar Match May Not Happen

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the previously scheduled Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar match for Royal Rumble may not take place after all.

For the last several months, the general idea was for Balor to be one of the challengers to Lesnar before Brock went on to battle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34. The seeds for this were planted a few times, first by Paul Heyman who specifically addressed Balor and then by Balor himself when he talked about wanting to go after the Universal title - a championship that he technically had to give up without losing.

When Balor went over Smackdown's AJ Styles - who himself is being readied for a program with WWE Champion Jinder Mahal - it was expected that it was the beginning of Balor's build towards Lesnar. However, the next night on Raw, Balor was squashed in a very one-sided match by Kane and then was not protected in any way during the beatdown by Smackdown wrestlers as he was grouped in with Matt Hardy and Jason Jordan.

With WWE's seemingly 50-50 booking though, it's possible Balor could be pushed again later this year in preparation for Lesnar with the company simply banking on the fact that no one will remember what happened this week.

More Impact Wrestling Departures Revealed

Reno Scum announced on Twitter that they have parted ways with Impact Wrestling. The tag team, which consists of Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend, thanked the company and left the door open for a return in the future.

Reno Scum debuted in Impact Wrestling in March, defeating DCC. They then challenged for the Impact Tag Team Championship in a fatal four-way match, but came up short and lost to The Latin American Xchange. In April, Impact announced that Thornstowe had suffered a biceps injury, and the team was out of action ever since.

Reno Scum had started out on the independent circuit, debuting in 2015 in Global Force Wrestling before it merged with Impact. They lost to The Bollywood Boys in the finals of a tournament to determine the promotion's inaugural tag team champions. They also wrestled in Ring Of Honor in 2015 and 2016.

Ricochet Not Taking Any Independent Dates After January, WWE Royal Rumble Debut Possible

One of the wrestling world's hottest free agents right now is Trevor Mann, aka Richochet, aka Prince Puma. The popular indy star recently wrapped up his obligations with Lucha Underground and seems to have said farewell to NJPW, leading to speculation that he is on his way to the WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on Mann's current status, and when we can expect him to appear in Vince McMahon's company. The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter from Dave Meltzer suggests that there are signs that Ricochet will indeed be joining the WWE and that we can almost pinpoint exactly when it will be:

It is believed that Ricochet's no-compete contract for Lucha Underground expires in mid-January, which would help to explain why the Superstar tweeted an image of a clock ticking on his Twitter account.

If Ricochet is joining the WWE in January, this would mean he'd be with the company right in time for the Royal Rumble. This would be an incredible debut for the Superstar and hopefully, If that happened, the former Prince Puma would get a debut spot similar to that of AJ Styles, who is now a big player in WWE.

Rusev & Aiden English To Become A Full-Time WWE Tag Team?

Former WWE United States Champion Rusev has struggled for direction since joining SmackDown in April's Superstar Shake-Up, but it looks like 'The Bulgarian Brute' could be set for a new role in the blue brand's tag division.

According to this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are set to turn Rusev and his newfound sidekick, Aiden English, into a full-time tag team. They've teamed just once on television thus far, losing to Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura on the October 10th episode of SmackDown, but will soon enter the resurgent division.

Rusev and English have been wildly entertaining together. They haven't been pushed yet, but their segments always conjure a few laughs, with the Bulgarian making a perfect straight-laced foil for 'The Drama King's' over-the-top melodrama. If skits like September's 'Pride Of Bulgaria Celebration' are anything to go by, their continued union should be a lot of fun.

SmackDown's tag division has been one of the brand's biggest highlights in 2017, with teams like The Usos and New Day regularly stealing the show. Here's hoping Rusev and English are able to transcend their current status: neither has been consistently pushed this year, and both rank among WWE's most misused stars.

Vince McMahon Considering Two Huge Names For Special Referee Role At WWE Survivor Series

We've noted before how WWE is looking to have a special referee for the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar match at the November 19th Survivor Series pay-per-view.

John Cena is rumored for the role, which could lead to Cena challenging Mahal, something Jinder has pushed for WrestleMania 34. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Vince McMahon was also considering The Rock and WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin for the role.

No word yet on talks with Rock or Austin but the issue would be if they want to work the match, and with The Rock the main issue would be if his schedule would allow it, and how much WWE would have to pay him. It's unlikely that a Lesnar vs. Rock or Lesnar vs. Austin match would come out of the special referee gig at Survivor Series. The Observer notes that while Austin is done as a wrestler, there is still the intrigue of he and Lesnar being in the ring together.

Backstage News On WWE's Plans For Ronday Rousey And A Horsewomen Vs. Horsewomen Match

WWE officials are still planning on doing the Horsewomen vs. Horsewomen match with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The match is now being planned for WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. One reason the match has been pushed back until then is because there's a RAW vs. SmackDown theme at Survivor Series, where the match was once rumored to take place. Another reason they're waiting until 2018 to do the match is the feeling that the extra time will help them get Rousey, Duke and Shafir ready for the ring.

Baszler continues to train at the WWE Performance Center under her WWE NXT deal and Rousey was at the Performance Center this past week. No word yet on the rumored Rousey vs. Flair singles match happening in the future but it was once rumored for WrestleMania.

More On Nia Jax Walking Away From WWE, The Rock Involved In Her Decision?

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports that The Rock had something to do with Nia Jax reportedly walking out of WWE recently.

Multiple sources have noted that Jax never actually walked out and that reports of her "leave of absence" were overblown but Sports Illustrated insists that Jax did walk out and that she requested the leave of absence after being unhappy with the plan for her to lose clean to Sasha Banks at WWE TLC. Other sources did also report that the plan was for Banks to face Jax at TLC but it ended up being Banks going over Alicia Fox at the pay-per-view. On a related note, PWInsider reported that Jax was set to film some of the final footage for Total Divas in New York City earlier this month but she was pulled from that.

SI reported last week that Jax was unhappy with her pay and with how she's been booked but she was expected to return to work with WWE, but that she had leverage due to The Rock being her cousin. The new report from SI notes that Jax called Rock to ask for his advice and he encouraged her to walk away if she was unhappy.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported last week that the entire situation with Jax was overblown and that there wasn't much to the story to begin with. The Observer added that Jax just had a few weeks off until the European tour began, to "rest up" as she wasn't figured into any of the top storylines. Sources close to Jax reported to The Observer that reports of her being upset over pay and bookings were untrue.

"We have talked about it a lot," RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss told The New York Post about her good friend. "Whatever she is going through, I wouldn't necessarily call it a leave of absence. She's taking some time off because our schedule it very grueling. It's very, very demanding. There are times where you are run down and your body can't do it anymore and you get sick or you get injured from it and you get tired. So, I feel like everyone needs a reset every once in a while. In NXT I took a few resets and it was never like public knowledge, but we all need them. We all take them once in a while. I am happy when she comes back. I feel like everyone needs that refresher week or refresher moment."

Jax has not returned to work for WWE but she did resume tweeting over the weekend, welcoming Asuka to the RAW women's division on Sunday during the TLC pay-per-view. She has been confirmed to work the European tour that begins November 1st but there's no word yet on if she will return to action before then.

Taryn Terrell Gone From Impact Because She Can’t Get Into Canada

It was reported last week that Taryn Terrell was pulled from the Knockouts title match at Bound for Glory and that she was done with the company. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the concussion story from TV (which took her out of the match) is a cover. The real story is that Terrell cannot get into Canada, and with the company shifting TV tapings for now into Canada, as well as Bound for Glory, it made it impossible to use her going forward. This is similar to Jim Cornette’s departure from the company. The split was said to be amicable on both sides.

Jeff Jarrett Has Checked Into A WWE Sponsored Rehab

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned former Impact Wrestling executive Jeff Jarrett has checked into a rehab facility … this according to sources with direct knowledge.

We’re told Jeff made the decision wednesday morning to get help and one source noted that it seems to be WWE sponsored rehabilation. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Karen Jarrett had worked with WWE officials in setting it up. As a former WWE employee, Jarrett was eligible for WWE sponsored rehab.

As we previously reported, Jarrett was fired from his position at Impact Wrestling this week while on a leave of absence. The next day a promoter in Canada accused him of passing out in the locker room over the weekend due to drinking, then insisting on wrestling a match.

No word on how long he’ll be in treatment.

NXT Champion Drew McIntyre will put his title on line on Saturday, Nov. 18, at TakeOver: Houston against the red-hot Andrade “Cien” Almas.

Over the last few months, Almas has been on an incredible winning streak, turning his previous misfortunes completely around thanks in large part to Zelina Vega coming back into his life.

Vega – who is acting as Almas’ business manager – has done everything from offer up a timely in-ring distraction to ordering Almas when to strike. Simply put, Vega has kept Almas’ focus on the prize: the NXT Championship.

If Almas and Vega want to claim the coveted title, it’s going to take the performance of a lifetime. Since coming to NXT, McIntyre has shown no signs of slowing down. Having reached his goal of claiming the NXT Title, the Scottish Superstar is determined to be a champion the NXT Universe can be proud of. And that means being a fighting champion.

Over recent weeks, the outspoken Vega made multiple attempts to get a title opportunity for her client by egging on McIntyre, who in response demanded Almas challenge him to his face. Following the Oct. 25 episode of NXT, McIntyre finally had heard enough from the trash talking Almas and Vega, taking to Twitter to declare that he would meet Almas face-to-face the following week. This prompted General Manager William Regal to step in via Twitter and make a title showdown between the two adversaries official.

As a result, two of the world’s most talented in-ring competitors will face off at TakeOver: Houston to see who will be crowned NXT Champion. Don’t miss Drew McIntyre vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas for the NXT Title, streaming live on WWE Network on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 ET/5PT.

NXT Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

A new NXT Women’s Champion will be crowned at TakeOver: Houston when Kairi Sane, Ember Moon, Peyton Royce and SAnitY’s Nikki Cross do battle in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the vacant title.

For weeks, the NXT Universe watched with baited breath as new contenders qualified for the hotly anticipated title showdown, which determines Asuka’s successor as the NXT Women’s Champion.

Asuka’s countrymate, Kairi Sane of Japan, was the first Superstar named to the match. The Pirate Princess, a newcomer to NXT, earned the right after triumphing in the inaugural Mae Young Classic.
