Blu-ray-Kritik:

Nachdem wir die Blu-ray Disc in den Player gelegt haben, werden uns die Sprachen, die zur Auswahl stehen, gezeigt. Es folgen Werbeclips zu „The Best of RAW & SmackDown 2011“ und „WWE ’12“, gefolgt vom“Don’t try this at home“-Spot.

Danach gelangen wir in das Hauptmenü. Hier stehen uns nun die Optionen „Play All“, „Chapters“ und „Blu Ray Exclusives“ (bei Disc 2) zur Auswahl. Das Ganze wird natürlich wieder musikalisch begleitet. Im Gegensatz zur DVD hat man kein kleines Fenster, in dem diverse Hypeclips gezeigt werden, sondern das ganze Bild wird von einer „Menüleiste“ abgetrennt, die die Auswahloptionen usw. beinhaltet. Die Bild- und Tonqualität ist tadellos und die Blu Ray beginnt, sobald man sich für „Play All“ entscheidet

Moderiert wird das Set von WWE-Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, der selbst eine der wichtigsten Rollen der WCW-Geschichte darstellt und zu Beginn erklärt er, was das „Clash of The Champions“-Konzept ausmachte und warum es etwas besonderes darstellte. Danach folgen die Matches, welche sich von CotC 1 bis zur 33. Ausgabe des Clashs erstrecken. So gibt es eine große Portion Ric Flair zu sehen, aber auch WWE Hall of Famer wie Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, Arn Anderson, Steve Austin, aber auch legendäre WCW-Superstars, wobei Sting an erster Stelle genannt sei.

Die Matchauswahl ist ebenfalls gelungen, es gibt klassisches Wrestling, brutale Action, aber auch etwas aus der Cruiserweight Division, die WCW Ende der Neunziger populär machte. Für Fans von WCW ist dieses Set eine schöne Sache, aber auch Fans von gutem Wrestling kommen hier auf ihre kosten, wobei ich der heutigen WWE-Generation dieses Set nicht empfehlen würde.
