ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness is finalizing the bouts for Saturday July 16’s HUGE, national television taping! And he has signed a Top Prospect Dream Match for Philadelphia!

Following his victory in the 2015 Top Prospect Tournament, Donovan Dijak was made an offer he couldn’t refuse. Instead of cashing in his guaranteed ROH World Television Championship shot against then-champ Jay Lethal in Baltimore, he opted to sign with the House of Truth, forfeiting his shot for an undisclosed sum of money.

His 2015 was a mixed bag, spending time protecting ROH World Champion Jay Lethal and often running interference on his opponents. By the end of the year, tension was running high in the House of Truth. The intimidating 6’7” monster brimming with unlimited potential was accused of costing the HoT a tag team match in Philadelphia and was publicly berated by Truth Martini. Instead of accepting his firing from the group, Dijak emphatically quit, delivering a Feast Your Eyes on Martini that levied him unconscious and forced him into neck surgery.

Some said intensity was all that Dijak was missing to becoming a major force in pro wrestling. For months, Prince Nana provided Dijak envelopes. Whatever was in the envelopes is believed to have fostered the more intense, determined competitor we are seeing now! With his sights locked in on dismantling the House of Truth and capturing the ROH World Championship from Jay Lethal while proving he is the best big man in wrestling, he has a Top Prospect Dream Match on his calendar for Philadelphia!

Lio Rush was a professional wrestler for barely one year when he was selected by ROH officials to participate in the 2016 Top Prospect Tournament. In the deepest field, ever, in TPT history, Rush won three hard-fought battles and earned a contract with Ring of Honor! With all eyes on the professional wrestling world in Dallas, Rush nearly captured the ROH World Title in his very first opportunity against Lethal. Rush has defeated ROH legend Christopher Daniels and many believe experience is the missing ingredient needed to turn near misses against ACH and Adam Cole into victories in the near future.

Rush competed in CMLL’s Torneo ELITE Internacional, picking winning his opening round bout against David Tita before losing a grueling back-and-forth bout against former ROH World Champion and current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Michael Elgin. Rush also picked up a huge victory in six-man competition. In the last two months, Rush has competed in three countries and has tested himself against the world’s best, turning his potential into reality!
