WWE kehrt 2026 nach New Orleans, Louisiana zurück – soviel ist wohl sicher. Zumindest so sicher, wie man sich mit WWE aktuell sicher sein kann. Denn im Februar diesen Jahres verkündete „The Rock“ Dwayne Johnson bei Friday Night SmackDown die Rückkehr von WrestleMania 42 zum Big Easy – im Mai korrigierte WWE Chief Content Officer Paul „Triple H“ Levesque diese Information via Social Media und teilte mit, dass „Grandest Stage of them all“ im nächsten Jahr erneut in Las Vegas stattfinden wird und New Orleans dafür im Sommer – genauer gesagt am Samstag, den 29.09.2026 (einen Tag vor AEW All In: London) – das Premium Live Event Money in the Bank präsentieren wird. Inzwischen wurde eine Ankündigung auf WWE.com veröffentlicht, die auf eine erneute Änderung hinweist, denn Money in the Bank wird knapp eine Woche später – am Sonntag, den 06.09.2026 – im Smoothie King Center stattfinden.

History:
Im Jahr 2005 fand das allererste "Money in the Bank"-Ladder Match bei "WrestleMania 21" statt. Bis 2010 war dieses Match fester Bestandteil der WrestleMania-Matchcards und bekam dann ein eigenes Premium Live Event. Während diese Matchart bis 2016 nur den Männern vorbehalten war, treten seit 2017 auch die Frauen einmal im Jahr in dieser Matchart in den Ring.
