Ringsprecherin Samantha Irvin hat WWE verlassen
Die Stimme von „Monday Night RAW“, Ringsprecherin Samantha Irvin, hat gestern via Social Media verkündet, dass sie ab sofort kein Teil von WWE ist. Im April 2021 unterzeichnete die sympathische 35-Jährige ihren Vertrag beim Marktführer.
WWE Universe, my time has come to an end as your Monday Night Raw Ring Announcer. I love you all tremendously and this does not mark the end of my art, I have a lifetime more to share. Thank you to every WWE fan who accepted me.

Irvin ist verlobt mit dem Wrestler Ricochet, der im Juni diesen Jahres von WWE zu AEW wechselte und im August bei „All In“ in London debütierte. Wer jedoch nun glaubt, dass Irvin ebenfalls zu AEW wechseln könnte, irrt. Zumindest nach Aussage ihres Verlobten.
Nach Angaben von Dave Meltzer möchte sie sich wieder mehr ihrer wahren Leidenschaft, der Musik, widmen. Bereits im Jahr 2015 hatte sie u.a. bei „America’s Got Talent“ diverse Auftritte unter ihrem bürgerlichen Namen (Samantha Johnson), wo sie es bis ins Halbfinale schaffte.
Auch die weltweit bekannteste Stimme (insbesondere durch Box-Veranstaltungen und WCW Pay-Per-Views), Michael Buffer, zeigt sich betroffen durch den Weggang Irvin’s und drückt nochmal seine Anerkennung und Wertschätzung gegenüber Irvin aus.
Wer nun ihren Posten zukünftig ausfüllt, wurde bereits in der gestrigen Episode von „Monday Night RAW“ gelüftet. So kündigte RAW-Kommentator Joe Tessitore gestern zu Beginn der Episode an, dass Samantha Irvin nicht mehr da sei, aber „Veteran“ Ringsprecherin Lilian Garcia zurück sei.
Garcia begann im Herbst 1999 ihre Karriere bei der WWE und blieb 10 Jahre bis 2009. Nach einer knapp dreijährigen Abstinenz kehrte sie 2012 bis 2016 zurück. Im Mai diesen Jahres, während einer „Monday Night RAW“ Episode in South Carolina, wo die Spanierin aktuell lebt, wollte die 58-Jährige eigentlich nur „einmal Hallo sagen“, doch daraus wurde direkt ein Gastauftritt in ihrer Heimat, nachdem sie von Irvin im Ring begrüßt wurde. Den folgenden Clip zum Auftritt könnte symbolisch auch als Staffelstab-Weitergabe interpretieren.
