Bei aktuellen Lafayette-SmackDown! TV-Taping (12. Januar 2016) konnte Alberto Del Rio in einem WWE United States Championship Rematch Kalisto (c) nach einem Eingriff von King Barrett via Cross Armbreaker Submisson besiegen und sich seinen WWE United States Championship Titel zurückholen, den er erst einen Tag zuvor beim New Orleans-RAW (11. Januar 2016) an Kalisto verloren hatte. Somit ist Alberto Del Rio neuer WWE United States Champion. Dies ist die zweite Titelregentschaft von Alberto Del Rio als WWE United States Champion.

The two Superstars, whose rivalry is rapidly evolving into one of WWE’s fiercest, battled to another climactic finish on Thursday’s hottest show — now on USA Network — but this time the underdog fell to The Essence of Excellence. The contest was not without it’s controversy, however, as The League of Nations factored into the outcome.
