Update zum neuen WWE TV-Deal: WWE verfehlt Ziel, Kurseinbruch der WWE-Aktie, McMahon verliert 340 Mio. US-Dollar

Wie WrestlingCorner.de bereits berichtete, hat die WWE mit NBC Universal bezüglich der WWE-Senderechte in den USA ab Oktober 2014 eine Einigung erzielt und einen neuen „Multi-Year Deal“ unterzeichnet. Demnach wird bekanntlich ab Oktober 2014 RAW weiterhin montags dreistündig und LIVE auf dem USA Network, und SmackDown! weiterhin freitags auf Syfy ausgestrahlt werden.

Nun wird berichtet, dass dieser Deal für die WWE finanziell eine große Enttäuschung gewesen ist, da man nicht nur das Ziel verfehlte, die TV-Einnahmen mindestens zu verdoppeln bzw. zu verdreifachen, sondern auch für einen dramatischen Kurseinbruch der WWE-Aktie gesorgt hat, der schließlich dazu führte, dass Vince McMahon innerhalb von 24 Stunden nach dem Bekanntwerden des neuen WWE TV-Deals laut einem Bericht von Forbes ganze 340 Mio. US-Dollar verloren hat und somit kein Milliardär mehr ist.

Aus diesem Grund gab die WWE nun via Pressemitteilung bekannt, dass am kommenden Montag eine Konferenz stattfinden wird, wo man sich zur aktuellen Situation äußern möchte:

WWE® to Host Business Outlook Conference Call

STAMFORD, Conn., May 16, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) — WWE announced that it will host a conference call on Monday, May 19, 2014 to discuss the Company’s 2014 and 2015 Business Outlook. The Company’s Chairman & CEO, Vincent K. McMahon, and the Company’s Chief Strategy & Financial Officer, George Barrios, will host the conference call beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET.

All interested parties are welcome to listen to a live web cast that will be hosted through the Company’s web site at corporate.wwe.com .
