In diesem Interview erz\u00e4hlt er uns, wie er zum Wrestling kam, welche Ziele er in der wXw hat und wie seine Zukunftspl\u00e4ne aussehen. WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Hallo Jurn. Erstmal bedanke ich mich bei dir, dass du dir die Zeit f\u00fcr dieses Interview genommen hast. Wie kam es dazu, dass du Wrestler werden wolltest und wer waren deine Vorbilder?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ich denke ich habe mit Beginn des Trainings die Entscheidung getroffen, Wrestler zu werden. Ich habe Wrestling das erste Mal in einer holl\u00e4ndischen TV-Sendung gesehen und f\u00fcr mich sah es im ersten Moment einfach danach aus, als w\u00e4re das ’ne coole und lustige Sache. Mit Beginn des Trainings habe ich mich dann voll auf die ganze Sache eingelassen und bin so „All-in“ gegangen. Richtige Vorbilder f\u00fcr das Wrestling hatte ich nie, da ich nicht als Fan aufgewachsen bin.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Ich finde, dass das ein etwas anderer Weg ist, zum Wrestling zu kommen, aber ein doch sehr interessanter. Und so wie es scheint, war diese Entscheidung ja die richtige, oder? Komme ich so auch gleich zur zweiten Frage. Deine ersten Matches hattest du im Jahr 2013 f\u00fcr PWH (Pro Wrestling Holland) bestritten. Dort wurdest du auch schon innerhalb von 12 Monaten PWH Heavyweight Champion. Keine 3 Monate sp\u00e4ter warst du dann bereits bei der wXw aktiv. Wie kam der Kontakt zur wXw zustande? Und wann hast du begonnen zu trainieren?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ich habe im September 2012 mit meinem Training begonnen. Ich bin durch Johnny Evers in Kontakt mit der wXw gekommen und so haben wir beide ein Try Out Match in einem kleinen Dojo gehabt. Ziemlich zeitnah haben wir dann auch unser Deb\u00fct gegeben. Der Rest ist, wie man so sch\u00f6n sagt, Geschichte.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Du bist also in nur k\u00fcrzester Zeit zu einem sehr talentierten Wrestler geworden und hast dich schnell ins Main Event gearbeitet. Ich mag es zu sehen, dass die Promotions immer wieder neue Leute ausprobieren und wie man sieht, haben sie damit ja Erfolg. Als Beispiel kann man dich ja sehr gut z\u00e4hlen. Gutes Sprichwort zum Ende. Wie gro\u00df ist der Unterschied zwischen der PWH in den Niederlanden und der wXw, die ja zu den Top-Promotions in Europa geh\u00f6rt. War da alles eine Nummer kleiner?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ja es ist schon ein ziemlicher Unterschied. Beginnt beim Publikum, weiter am Roster, Beleuchtung oder auch das Produkt an sich. In der wXw ist alles gr\u00f6\u00dfer. Ich denke das hat am meisten damit zu tun, das Wrestling in Deutschland wesentlich beliebter und bekannter ist als in den Niederlanden.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Wahrscheinlich weil alles, wie du sagst, einfach gr\u00f6\u00dfer ist. Wie war es denn f\u00fcr dich, als du das erste Mal bei der wXw auf die Rampe gelaufen bist? In der wXw sind und waren ja bereits viele Wrestler aus den Niederlanden aktiv. Man braucht nur die Namen von Rico Bushido, Emil Sitoci, Tengkwa, Michael Dante oder Tommy End aufzuz\u00e4hlen, die wohl zu den gr\u00f6\u00dften Stars in den Niederlanden geh\u00f6ren. Wie kommt es zu dieser gro\u00dfen Talentschmiede? Ist Wrestling in den Niederlanden so popul\u00e4r?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Also hier in den Niederlanden ist Wrestling gar nicht bekannt bzw. kaum beliebt. Ich glaube, die meisten Leute haben auch falsche Vorstellungen von den Talenten, die aus der Niederlande kommen, Wohl deshalb, da man die Szene hier so gut wie nicht kennt. Es gibt viele, viele Performer in den Niederlanden, aber der Unterschied zu den oben genannten ist einer: Leidenschaft \/ Hingabe. Die so bekannten Wrestler sind deshalb so bekannt, da sie daf\u00fcr lange und sehr hart gearbeitet haben.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Ich glaube fast, dass viele der kleineren Promotions nicht die Aufmerksamkeit erhalten, die sie verdient haben. Verstehe dich da voll. Und ich glaube, dass es immer volle Leidenschaft und vollen Einsatz ben\u00f6tigt, um es zu schaffen, ein gro\u00dfartiger Wrestler zu werden. Wie wir alle wissen, hat dein Landsmann Tommy End nach vielen Jahren in der wXw, den Sprung zum Marktf\u00fchrer WWE gepackt. Dort ist er nun bei NXT unter den Namen Aleister Black aktiv. Wie findest du es, dass dein Landsmann nun die Niederlande bei der gr\u00f6\u00dften Wrestling Promotion der Welt vertritt?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ich freue mich f\u00fcr ihn, er hat es wirklich verdient, nach alldem was er daf\u00fcr geleistet hat. Wirklich stolz, dass es einer meiner Landsm\u00e4nner geschafft hat, f\u00fchle ich mich aber nicht, da ich mich auf mich selbst konzentriere.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Ich finde, dass das eine gute Ansicht ist und mag wie du in der Hinsicht denkst. Ich denke, es braucht auch diese Art zu denken. Manchmal muss man das tun, was f\u00fcr einen selbst gut ist. Du bist ja schon nach kurzer Zeit ganz oben bei der wXw angekommen. Innerhalb weniger Monate wurdest du zweimal wXw Uniefied World Wrestling Champion. Du bist erst 25 Jahre alt und hast das Aussehen bzw. das Profil, welches Vince McMahon gef\u00e4llt. Dazu bist du f\u00fcr deine Masse ein sehr guter Wrestler. Was w\u00fcrdest du machen, wenn du ein Angebot von der WWE bekommen w\u00fcrdest?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Woher wei\u00dft du denn, was Mr. McMahon mag? Seid ihr befreundet?“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> F\u00fcr mich sieht es so aus, als w\u00e4ren die „Big Guys“ die, die er bevorzugt. Aber auch nur meine subjektive Meinung. Aber zur\u00fcck zur Frage. Wie w\u00fcrdest du reagieren, wenn die WWE dich kontaktiert?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Das wei\u00df ich nicht. Ich lebe eher Tag f\u00fcr Tag. Ich werde diese Br\u00fccke bzw diesen Schritt meistern, wenn es soweit ist.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Ich glaube, ich w\u00fcrde mit einer \u00e4hnlichen Ansicht daran gehen. Bei der wXw World Tag Team League hattest du zum ersten Mal einen Moonsault ausgepackt. Wie lange hast du daf\u00fcr trainiert, um diesen Move, den eigentlich fast nur Cruiserweight-Wrestler zeigen, perfekt ausf\u00fchren konntest?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ich konnte diesen Move schon damals. Ich habe ihn schon im Training ge\u00fcbt. Beim „wXw World Tag Team League“ habe ich ihn dann das erste Mal gezeigt.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> „Es war wirklich ein gro\u00dfartiger Move und man sieht nun wirklich selten so einen Move von Wrestlern deiner Gr\u00f6\u00dfe. Du bist bei einer der besten Promotions in Europa aktiv, und hast dort auch schon zweimal den gro\u00dfen Titel gewonnen. Was sind deine weiteren Ziele in der wXw?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Ich will weiterhin der „Top Guy“ bleiben und m\u00f6chte meine Marke vergr\u00f6\u00dfern. Dazu will ich den Namen von mir und auch der wXw immer gr\u00f6\u00dfer machen. Das sind so meine Ziele in der wXw.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Ich finde, dass dies schon gute und gro\u00dfe Ziele sind und du wirst sie definitiv erreichen. Du hast ja bereits einige gro\u00dfe Matches gehabt und man wird ja nur besser und besser. Ich m\u00f6chte mich hiermit nochmals bei dir bedanken, dass du dir die Zeit genommen hast. Vielleicht habe ich bald mal wieder die ehrenvolle Aufgabe, ein Interview mit dir zu f\u00fchren.<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Kein Problem und danke f\u00fcr das Interview.“ <\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Hey Jurn, first of all i would like to say thank you, that you’ve taking some time for our interview. But let’s get started. Why and when did you decided to become a Wrestler? And who was you’re role-model?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „I decided to become a wrestler the year I started training, I guess. I saw a Dutch TV show on it a little before that and it seemed like a fun thing to do to me. Since doing shows I got really hooked on performing and have gone all-in since then. I never had any wrestling role models, because I didn’t grow up as a fan.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> I think thats a other way to become a wrestler, but an interesting one. And it seems that this decision was a good one, wasn’t it? When did you start to train? This question leads to my next one. Your first Match was in 2013 for the Promotion „PWH“. In less then 12 months you’ve become there Heavyweight Champion and 3 months later you already wrestled for wXw. How did you get you’re spot at wXw? And in which year did you started to train?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „I started training in September of 2012. I got into wXw because Johnny Evers was in contact with them and we both had tryout matches at a dojo show which led to us making our debuts. The rest, as they say, is history.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> So you’ve become a great talented wrestler in a short time and it didn’t take long to get you on top of there show. I like to see that they always try out new people and it proves that it will work. Great words. Is there a big difference between the Promotion „PWH“ in the Netherlands and the „wXw“? In PWH“ is there everthing a little bit smaller?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „It’s a different scale, yes. From the crowds, roster, exposure, content, etc. wXw is just bigger than PWH. I think it mainly has to do with wrestling being much more popular in Germany than in The Netherlands.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> Maybe it is just because its more popular as you say. Was it a big step for you to go out to the ring in wxw for the first time? How does it feel? There were already a few big names from the Netherlands like Rico Bushido, Emil Sitoci, Tengkwa, Michael Dante or Tommy End in „WXW“. Just to name a few. How did the Netherlands become such a great Talentspot and is Wrestling that popular in the Netherlands?“<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „No, it’s not popular at all. I think people have misconceptions about the talent that comes from The Netherlands as people aren’t very aware of the Dutch scene. There are a lot of Dutch performers that people don’t know about. The main difference between them and the ones you mentioned is dedication. So the Dutch names that are well-known are just really hard workers and that’s why they’re as good as they are.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> I think that all of those independent scenes don’t get the kind of recognition they deserve. I get you’re point. And also i think it needs this kind of dedication and it needs a lot of hard work to become such an amazing wrestler. And they all deserve there spots. Becaus all of them become great wrestlers. We all know that Tommy End, after many years at „wXw“, now finally made the big step up to „WWE“. There he is now know as Aleister Black in „NXT“. What to you think of that and are you proud that a guy from you’re country become a superstar in „WWE“? Do you think he will „make it“ there? Do you think he’s got what it’s take?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „I’m happy for him, he’s deserved it after all of the work he’s put into getting there. I don’t really feel pride because he’s Dutch or anything though and in general I am more focused on my own career anyway.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> That’s a good opinion and i like the way you think. It needs this kind of thinking. Sometimes you have to do what is best for yourself. After just a short time you already made it to the top of „wXw“. In less then a few months you’ve already become there wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion twice. Now you’re just 25 years old and you’ve also got the look and the profil, which Mr. McMahon likes or nearly loves. And for you’re size you’re also a great wrestler. What would you do or how would you react if „WWE“ would contact you?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „How do you know what Mr. McMahon likes? You guys tight?“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> It seems that those „big guys“ are the prefered ones by him. Just a subjective opinion of mine. But let’s get to the second part of the question anyway. How would you react if they would contact you?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „I don’t know, I kind of live day by day so I guess I’d cross that bridge when I’d get there.“ <\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> I think i would do the same, if i were in this position. Live is there to be lived. At „wXw World Tag Team League“ you’ve showed the moonsault for the first time. How long did you trained for this move do do it just as good as some of the best cruiserweights in the world?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „I was able to do it years ago when I tried in training once, wXw World Tag Team League was just the first time I did it in a match.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> It was a great move and we don’t see those kind of moves often by wrestlers of your size. You are now at one of the best promotions in europe and you’ve already won there big title twice. So what want you to achieve next in „wXw“? Perhaps to win the 16 Carat Gold Tournament next year?<\/p>\n Jurn Simmons: „Continue being the top guy and expanding my brand and name value along with that of wXw are my direct goals in wXw.“<\/em><\/p>\n WrestlingCorner.de:<\/strong> I think those are already great goals and i think you’re going to achieve those. You already showed some great matches and with the time you’ll just become better and better. It was a pleasure to talk to you and once again thank you for you’re time.
