Nachdem der ehemalige Ring of Honor und TNA\/Impact Wrestling Star Jimmy Rave im letzten Jahr mit diversen gesundheitlichen Beschwerden zu k\u00e4mpfen hatte, musste er sich diesen schlie\u00dflich im Alter von nur 39 Jahren geschlagen geben.<\/p>\n
Agent Bill Behrens ver\u00f6ffentlichte dazu gestern ein Statement und best\u00e4tigte den Tot von James Michael Guffey, wie Rave mit b\u00fcrgerlichem Namen hie\u00df. Gemeinsam mit Rave’s Tochter Kailah formulierte er die folgenden Zeilen:<\/p>\n
James Michael Guffey has died at the age of 39.<\/p>\n
James was best known as Professional Wrestler, Jimmy Rave. His career, which started in 1999, continued for over 2 decades. He was a two-time NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion. He appeared in Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling, where he teamed with Lance (Hoyt) Rock as the ‚Rock and Rave Infection.‘ In Ring of Honor, he feuded with AJ Styles and was the ‚Crown Jewel‘ of the faction, The Embassy, and last appeared in 2013 as a Member of S.C.U.M. He toured Japan with both Dragon Gate Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling where in 2008 he competed in the ‚Best of The Super Junior‘ Tournament. In 2005 he appeared on World Wrestling Entertainment’s Sunday Night Heat. Rave appeared in numerous Independent promotions including Rampage Pro Wrestling, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, and Combat Zone Wrestling, among many others. He also served as a booker for several years in Rampage Pro Wrestling and led a faction known as ‚Jimmy Rave Approved.‘<\/p>\n
Outside of wrestling he held the position of Director of the Bartow County, Georgia Peer Support, Wellness and Respite Center for several years.<\/p>\n
James had been struggling with drug addiction for many years. His struggles resulted in the amputation of his arm and, later, both of his legs.<\/p>\n
James is survived by his ex-wife Felicia, daughter Kailah, son James II, and parents Jim & Toni Guffey. At the time of his death, he was living in the Philadelphia, PA area with Gabby Gilbert.<\/p>\n

Im November 2020<\/a> verk\u00fcndete Rave, nachdem klar war, dass sein linker Arm amputiert werden m\u00fcsse, seinen R\u00fccktritt vom Wrestling. Im Oktober<\/a> diesen Jahres folgte der n\u00e4chste Schicksalsschlag – beide Beine m\u00fcssten aufgrund einer MRSA Infektion amputiert werden.<\/p>\n
Eine GoFundMe-Spendenaktion brachte \u00fcber $47,000 US-Dollar f\u00fcr die Operationen und weiteren medizinischen Behandlungen zusammen. Leider ohne Erfolg.<\/p>\n
Jimmy Rave begann 1999 seine Wrestlingkarriere in Georgia. 2000 deb\u00fctierte er bei Ring of Honor und seither Teil von The Embassy und wurde von Prince Nana gemanagt. 2002 bildete er mit Lance Hoyt ein Tag Team bei TNA.<\/p>\n
