Mai 1985 wurde die erste Ausgabe ausgestrahlt. An diesem Abend verteidigte u.a. WWF Champion Hulk Hogan seinen Titel gegen Bob Orton, Wendi Richter den WWF Women&#8217;s Championtitel gegen die Fabulous Moolah und Barry Windham, Mike Rotundo &amp; Ricky Steamboat besiegten The Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff &amp; George Steele in einem 6-Man Tag Team Match.  Das Konzept wurde von 1985 bis 1992 umgesetzt und feierte 2006-2008 ein Comeback. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>September 17, 2024&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 WWE&nbsp;and NBC announce the return of the iconic&nbsp;<em>Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event<\/em>, which will air live on Saturday, December 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and simulcast on Peacock. The special will be held at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever&nbsp;<em>Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This marks the first primetime special, which will air quarterly on NBC and Peacock, as part of WWE\u2019s new, five-year domestic media rights partnership with NBCUniversal, which officially kicked off last Friday with&nbsp;<em>SmackDown<\/em>&nbsp;on USA Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, official&nbsp;<em>Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event<\/em>&nbsp;Priority Passes are available now through exclusive partner On Location, offering fans premium seating, hospitality events with Superstar appearances, exclusive photo opportunities, and more.
