Wie WrestlingCorner.de bereits berichtete, hat sich WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett bei SmackDown! TV Tapings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in der vergangenen Woche eine Schultereckgelenksverrenkung zugezogen, als er nach seinem Non-Title Match gegen Dean Ambrose von Jack Swagger attackiert wurde und von ihm ungl\u00fccklich gegen die Ringabsperrung bef\u00f6rdert worden ist.<\/span>

Nachdem Bad News Barrett nicht bei WWE Money In The Bank 2014 im Einsatz war, wurde in der aktuellen RAW Episode verk\u00fcndet, dass sich Bad News Barrett einer notwendigen Schulteroperation unterziehen muss und anschlie\u00dfend f\u00fcr mehrere Monate pausieren wird. Aus diesem Grund wurde der WWE Intercontinental Championship Titel umgehend f\u00fcr vakant erkl\u00e4rt und bei WWE Battleground 2014 in einer gro\u00dfen WWE Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal neu ausgek\u00e4mpft werden.<\/span>

Als erste Teilnehmer f\u00fcr die besagte Battle Royal wurden bei RAW bislang Cesaro, Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow und The Great Khali best\u00e4tigt.\u00a0<\/span>
