AJ Styles war k\u00fcrzlich in der „The Taz Show: Bodyslams & Beyonds“ zu Gast. Dort diskutierte der New Japan Pro Wrestling- und Ring Of Honor-Star \u00fcber die M\u00f6glichkeit einer Vertragsunterzeichnung bei der WWE, um dort bei NXT anzutreten. Au\u00dferdem wurde AJ Styles danach gefragt, gegen welchen Gegner, gegen den er noch nie in seiner Wrestlingkarriere angetreten sei, er gerne ein Match bestreiten w\u00fcrde.<\/p>\n
In Bezug darauf, ob NXT eine Option f\u00fcr ihn w\u00e4re, antwortete AJ Styles, dass er im Moment sehr gl\u00fccklich in seiner Position bei New Japan Pro Wrestling ist, aber er r\u00e4umte auch ein, dass er das Gerede von den Fans, die ihn gerne bei der WWE bzw. bei NXT sehen wollen, auch mitbekommen habe. AJ Styles deutete an, dass er an einem Punkt in seiner Karriere angekommen ist, wo er daran interessiert ist, f\u00fcr sich und seiner Familie die bestm\u00f6glichste Entscheidung zu treffen – und sollte dies die Unterzeichnung eines WWE NXT Vertrages sein, dann w\u00fcrde er dieser Idee nicht abgeneigt sein und offen gegen\u00fcber stehen:<\/p>\n
„At this point in my career, I’m going to go do what’s best for my family and I want to do what’s best to provide for them. So, the business that we’re in, [if] the business could be better somewhere else, then that’s where I’m going to go. That’s what I’m going to do. So, like I said, it’s a business plan. Wherever the plan takes me, that’s where I’ll go.“<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Auf die Frage, gegen welchen Gegner, gegen den er noch nie in seiner Wrestlingkarriere angetreten sei, er gerne mal ein Match bestreiten w\u00fcrde, antwortete AJ Styles, dass er sehr gerne gegen Rey Mysterio Jr. in den Ring steigen w\u00fcrde. Dieses Match w\u00e4re aber sehr schwer zustande bringen, da AJ Styles bei New Japan Pro Wrestling unter Vertrag steht und Rey Mysterio f\u00fcr die mexikanische Promotion AAA in den Ring steigt. Da New Japan Pro Wrestling mit der Konkurrenz-Liga der AAA, n\u00e4mlich der CMLL, zusammenarbeitet, w\u00e4re dieses Match wohl kaum zu erm\u00f6glichen – au\u00dfer, man w\u00fcrde dieses Match bei einer Independent Wrestling-Show austragen:<\/p>\n „I’d like to wrestle Rey, Rey Mysterio, before he retires. I think we could have a pretty cool match and it would be a pretty big match, the two of us, so I’d probably get that done. I would imagine you would have to come off the hip with some money for Rey, but it would be fun! It depends where we do it. The problem is he works for AAA and I work for New Japan and New Japan works for CMLL, or works with CMLL, so that’s the big dilemma.
