WWE bestätigt Knöchelverletzung von Kofi Kingston auf WWE.com

Wie WrestlingCorner.de bereits am vergangenen Wochenende berichtete, hat sich The New Day-Mitglied Kofi Kingston laut Informationen von „The Spotlight“ am Freitag, den 07. April 2017 einer notwendigen Operation an seinem rechten Knöchel unterzogen, nachdem er bereits schon vor einigen Wochen eine Knöchelverletzung am rechten Fuß erlitten hat, jedoch die notwendige Knöchel-OP aufgrund von WrestleMania 33 auf die Woche nach dem größten Wrestlingspektakel des Jahres verschoben hat. Die Knöchelverletzung von Kofi Kingston ist auch der Grund dafür gewesen, warum er am Montag, den 03. April 2017 beim „RAW after Mania“ von The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) am rechten Knöchel attackiert worden ist, nachdem beide zuvor Big E & Xavier Woods in einer Open Challenge besiegt hatten. Mit dem besagten Angle ist Kofi Kingston für die nächsten Wochen aus den TV-Shows geschrieben worden.

Am heutigen Montag, den 10. April 2017 wurde die Knöchelverletzung von Kofi Kingston auch von der WWE auf WWE.com mit einer offiziellen Meldung bestätigt:

Kofi Kingston suffers ankle injury, undergoes surgery

Kofi Kingston sustained an injury to his right ankle during The Revival’s post-match assault last Monday night on Raw, and WWE.com can confirm that the former Raw Tag Team Champion will be out of action for several weeks.

“During the attack by The Revival, Kofi injured his right ankle and heard a crack, and was unable to put weight on his leg following the attack,” WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com. “Further evaluation and an MRI revealed that the attack had caused fragments of bone to break off the ankle bone (talus), requiring arthroscopic surgery to remove the bone chips from the damaged joint.”

Kingston’s injury leaves The New Day down a man just before the Raw and SmackDown LIVE locker rooms undergo a Superstar Shake-up.
