In der aktuellen SmackDown! LIVE-Episode am Dienstag, den 01. November 2016 in Newark, New Jersey wurden mit WWE World Champion AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt & Baron Corbin alle fünf Namen von Team SmackDown! LIVE für das 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match zwischen Team SmackDown! LIVE und Team RAW bei der WWE Survivor Series 2016 offiziell bestätigt.

Außerdem wurden SmackDown! Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Naomi & Carmella (w/ Natalya as Team Coach) für Team SmackDown! LIVE für das 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Women’s Elimination Match zwischen Team SmackDown! LIVE und Team RAW bei der WWE Survivor Series 2016 offiziell bestätigt, während sich American Alpha (Jason Jordan & Chad Gable) und The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) für das Team SmackDown! LIVE im 10-on-10 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination Match zwischen Team SmackDown! LIVE und Team RAW bei der WWE Survivor Series 2016 qualifizieren konnten, indem sie beim Newark-SmackDown! in Survivor Series Qualifying Matches The Spirit Squad (Kenny & Mikey) und The Headbangers (Mosh & Trasher) besiegen konnten.

Außerdem sprach der amtierende WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler beim Newark-SmackDown! eine offene Survivor Series-Herausforderung an einen RAW Superstar aus, gegen den er bei der WWE Survivor Series 2016 seinen WWE Intercontinental Championship Titel verteidigen will. Es bleibt abzuwarten, welcher RAW Superstar diese Herausforderung annehmen wird.
