- Mike Tenay and Taz were caught watching the NFL Thursday night game between the NY Jets and New England Patriots at this week's Impact Wrestling tapings in St. Louis. - TNA's founder Jeff Jarrett was backstage at Thursday's Impact Wrestling tapings in St. Louis, Missouri. Jarrett was involved in a backstage production meeting and was also working in some kind of of agent role.

There has been a lot of talk that Jarrett is starting to be more involved in the week to week operations of TNA again, as opposed to working only behind the scenes in Nashville on new potential projects and international deals.

- Former TNA Knockout SoCal Val was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage in the early morning hours of August 31st in Orlando, Florida.

She was booked on a $600 bond. An arrest report shows her blood alcohol level was greater than .15. The arrest happened shortly after 4:30am.

Inside The Ropes have launched a VIP service this week and one of their new shows is Lets Get Creative where they talk to wrestling bookers and writers. In the debut show, they spoke to Memphis promoter and TNA Founder, Jerry Jarrett. Here's a portion of what Jerry had to say about TNA:

On Dixie's non-wrestling background and how that effects her running a wrestling company: "You've got to have an unabiding respect for the business or it's impossible to be successful. When I was in the wrestling business, me and the wrestling business were intertwined. I ate it, slept it, dreamt it. The wrestling business was my mistress. Dixie saw her first match after she had ownership, I think and I know for a fact she has little regard for the tradition or the history of the business. So, if you don't know what brought you to the dance, how are you supposed to learn from it and build on it. After all this years, it's pretty obvious that I'm right. TNA today is as closed to being a non factor in the business as you can get."

Thoughts on TNA's focus on ex-WWE talents: "That's one of the mistakes they made. They can't seem to get past the fact that when you bring in guys that WWE has let go, fans are going to see them as yesterday's soup. But of course you have to have someone who knows how to cultivate and create talent otherwise you have no choice but to use whoever's available, thats named talent. It's pretty obvious that they don't have anybody that knows how to create talent. I'm guessing, because I haven't seen the show in 2-3 years, but I'm sure there's talent there that could be superstars. Truth, Ron Killings was in TNA and then you saw when he went to WWE how Vince made him into a superstar. In the wrestling business, it's really not any secret, it's understanding that if you're making a movie. what are the ingredients you need? A compelling storyline, a great producer/director and great talent. You mix those ingredients and you get great cinema. But if you take this great star or talent and put him in a stinking movie with a stinking producer director, what do you get? and the wrestling business is a dance between the promoter or booker or writer and the talent. They have to be on the same page and they both have to be good."

TNA's future: "I am amazed, because when I was there, Bob Carter called me at least two to three times a week and said "I can't lose any more money, Jerry" and I said, "You're needing to talk to your daughter, not to me. She's running the place." So I'm amazed that they are in business. I think at this point, it'safe to say that TNA will continue to be subsidized by Bob Carter until he dies. Then I think TNA will go the way of ECW and the territory days."

Zema Ion recently spoke with the Pain Clinic about his condition after recovering from two major surgeries. Below are the highlights:

"I'm okay now. I had appendicitis. I didn't know what was going on. I woke up one morning back in May and I had the worst stomach ache of my life. I didn’t have health insurance so I didn’t want to go to the hospital, but I knew something wasn’t right. I was throwing up for nine straight hours that day. Everything I tried to eat, I just kept puking back out. I was like, ‘Man I got food poisoning or something. My body's not right.’

"I tried to wait it out all day, and I finally couldn’t take it anymore and I went to the hospital. Thank God I did because my appendix was about to burst. I had to go into emergency surgery to remove it, and when they did the CAT scan to confirm I had appendicitis, they found a five-centimeter tumor in my colon.

"So right before they’re about to put me to sleep to take my appendix out, the doctor says, ‘Oh by the way, you might have cancer. We found a tumor in your colon and it might be cancerous. You might have to take chemotherapy someday.’ So that was pretty scary stuff before I could say anything about it; I was already under anesthesia.

"I was depressed for weeks after that, because I can’t wrestle and now I’m wondering if I have cancer. I don’t have health insurance so I’m going to have thousands and thousands of dollars in medical bills. That was a really dark time for me, but I’m fine now. Thankfully, everything worked out and I’m back in the ring doing what I love again.

"I did house shows for TNA a few weeks ago. Those were my first matches back from injury and they went well. So hopefully, you'll be seeing me on television again sooner or later."

"Obviously there's a huge difference. When we were in Orlando, you had vacationers but typically we had the same audience, the same hardcore audience that would come to every taping. I mean that was a cool factor but now being on the road, it's different, the fans feel like they're part of the show because it's in their hometown, they're gonna get a chance to get seen on TV ya know. I think it's a great difference. You can see the energy of the show has changed, watching on TV and live, it transforms you as a performer. You feed off it I think."

Thoughts on AJ Lee's character and comparisons to her WWE character in 2005:

"You know I've heard that and I've seen that. I feel like they've done it a bit different which is good because obviously you don't want to do it the same. I did get a chance to see her segments with Stephanie backstage and things people have Tweeted me whether it's mashups or different things. It's a cool thing. Obviously we did something right the first time or you wouldn't want to do it again with a different angle."

On her time in OVW:
"I've been at OVW, I got here about four months ago. Honestly, it’s a great experience. You gain so much knowledge and learn so much about how to work in the ring and how to be a character. It’s a good school to come to, because you get great exposure from here."

On the character she wanted to portray in TNA:
"When I got the call to come up there for the Gut Check, I never doubted the type of character that I wanted to be. In pro wrestling, as far as a woman, I already know that my size alone is different. I was already doing that character, Lei’D Tapa - Queen of Rings, working the independent circuit. I know I don't look like any of the girls and I'm not their size, so I'm not trying to compare myself to them or be like them. I'm just being myself."

If she was nervous that she might be released from TNA:
"In a way. I didn't know what was going on. I know they were releasing a lot of people, but I just kind of said, ‘If it happens to me, then it’s out of my hands and I can’t control anything.' But I think they made a good decision keeping me (laughs). I really didn’t think about that, honestly. When they were letting go of a lot of the Gut Check winners, it never crossed my mind. I was just focusing on what I’m supposed to do here at OVW and get as much training as I can and get more comfortable in the ring. It never crossed my mind that they might release me, because I just got signed. I wasn’t thinking about anything like that."

Timothy Givens sent along note that he interviewed former WWE/TNA Wrestling talent Kharma (Kia Stevens) prior to last night’s Pro Wrestling Glory event in Meroa, Illinois. Kharma opened up on Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan in TNA Wrestling, her favorite female worker to wrestle with. The former WWE Diva was also quiet on the potential of a return to the company.

Highlights of the interview are below:

Her thoughts on Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan: “Dixie is a very generous lady and welcomes you with open arms, but I would rather sell oranges on the interstate before I would ever work for Dixie Carter again. Once the door is closed and the meetings start Dixie is different. I loved working with the girls, but I couldn’t stand working for Dixie. Terry (Hulk) is a good man and a great man. He will sit and talk your leg off. He gave a lot of advice as well. He’s a veteran of the business, so I respect him for that and the advice, but the money TNA are paying him is the only bad thing I can say.

On her favorite female wrestler to work with: “I had a lot of really good matches in TNA Wrestling and WWE, but my favorite worker would have to be Roxxi. That girl can work and we had some good matches, I wish I could of had more of them.”

On the potential of a WWE return: “Mum is the word.”

On TNA Wrestling talent: “There were some really good people there. I still wish I could work with most of them. It’s too bad that TNA Wrestling hasn’t got a good head on their shoulders right now.”

On the possibility of becoming WWE Divas Champion: “I would love it. Maybe we will see one day.”

Regarding TNA Wrestling Knockouts and WWE Divas, Kharma was asked if she would like to wrestle AJ Lee and once again stated that mum is the word. Regarding The Bellas and Naomi, Kharma said that she likes The Bella Twins and would really love to do some more work with them, possibly down the road, but she doesn’t know and said that Naomi is good and getting better and thinks that they could make a good tag team and do some really good stuff together. Kharma was then asked about ODB and said that ODB is kinda crazy, but good crazy and fun to be around all the time. In regards to Stephanie McMahon, Kharma said that Stephanie is straight to the point and all about business.

Former Knockout, Tara was on VOCNation and was asked about her time in TNA and whether she would return. Tara said:

"TNA is out of the question. It wasn’t a good fit for me. I had a great run there, but it was very different from WWE. It made me appreciate WWE a lot."

Tara also spoke about her future and it if involves wrestling:

"Never say never. I’m 42 and I’m still kicking ass and in better shape than when I was wrestling. It’s in my blood. I’m lucky that I live wrestling at my restaurant. I don’t think I’m done wrestling; I have a lot to give in terms of knowledge and helping other females."

There is a feeling within TNA that the company will survive in some form, if only because Spike TV won't want to lose it. The Carter family would more than likely want to sell the company and get at least something out of it instead of shutting it down completely.

The big questions right now revolve around 2014 - who will own it, if the current or new owners will give it a facelift, who will remain on the roster, where TV shows will be taped and if they will continue to do live events.

- Jeff Jarret wrestled for The Great Muta's Wrestle-1 promotion in Tokyo, Japan over the weekend. Jarrett teamed with Muta and Masakatsu Funaki to defeat Masayuki Kono, Kazma and Ryoji Sai. Jarrett used his guitar towards the end. After the match, Muta thanked Jarrett and asked him to continue working with Wrestle-1. They shook hands and that was it.
