Ivory wird in die WWE „Hall of Fame“ 2018 eingeführt

WrestleMania rückt immer näher und damit auch die diesjährige WWE „Hall of Fame“ Zeremonie. Goldberg und die Dudley Boyz stehen bereits fest. Nun ist auch die erste Dame bekannt, die in die Ruhmeshalle aufgenommen wird. Wie WWE exklusiv über espnW verkündet handelt es sich dabei um Lisa „Ivory“ Moretti!

„Mit der Einführung in die WWE „Hall of Fame“ schließt sich der Kreis in deinem Wrestling-Kapitel“, so Ivory gegenüber espnW. „Es ist großartig für deine Familie, die dich durch die einzelnen Epochen begleitet hat, aber auch großartige Anerkennung für die Frauen im Wrestling im Allgemeinen.“

„Women who decide to wrestle are a special type of women. We are tomboys, we are women that can hang in a locker room. I am just grateful that there are outlets for that! It’s not about having a certain body type and looking picture perfect beautiful. It’s about having the drive and some kind of wacky attraction you have to the physicality, the test of learning how to wrestle and being [able] to do it believably. It’s not easy theater to do. You can watch plenty of wrestling matches where the performers are not buying it. And it makes it boring for you to watch. There is a huge testament to the talent of the people who are engaging the fan or viewer.“

Ivory begann ihre Karriere in den 80er Jahren bei der Promotion „Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling“ (GLOW) unter dem Namen Tina Ferrari. Bei WWE hat ihre Karriere während der „Attitude Ära“ ihren Ursprung, bis sie letztlich 2005 die Company verlassen hatte. Sie konnte in dieser Zeit 3x den Women’s Championship Titel gewinnen. Ihre letzte Titelregentschaft endete bei „WrestleMania 17“, als sie ihn an Chyna verlor.

Neben Ivory haben es in den letzten fünf Jahren Beth Phoenix, Jacqueline Moore, Madusa, Lita & Trish Stratus in die „Hall of Fame“ geschafft.

Die diesjährige „Hall of Fame“ Zeremonie findem am Freitag, den 06.04.2018 im Smoothie King Center von New Orleans statt.
