It’s a little disappointing to hear that. He was never like that to my face. To hear the things that he said, especially behind my back to Vince (McMahon), it’s very disturbing to me. Things did not go ideal for me after that time period that we had wrestled and I stuck around, I hung out, I showed up day in and day out, I did my job, and turned things around.
“He goes on record saying I broke his ribs on purpose and this and that. That’s not true. And if it was, if he says that that happened, he never did anything about it, if he’s this big bad tough guy. But it never happened. You’ve got a roster full of WWE talent that knows the real Ryback. Everyone knows the truth and what he said is not the truth.
“I wish him the best and I’d like to think he would be thankful for everything that he has in WWE. I was the one that, for lack of a better word, put him over time and time again. And then he walked out and left. He was beaten up, he had his issues. I don’t think anyone is going to question walking away beaten up. But I think people say ‘what does he have to lose by saying what he does?’ I think he’s making excuses and trying to… he wants people to feel sorry for him for leaving. He walked away and left and just man up, he needed time off. We all get beat up, we all work hurt. I was hurt for seven months before I needed to get surgery. And I say at the end of the day, be thankful for everything that you have from WWE. With any job there’s good and bad. Focus on the good. Don’t be bitter because who knows what’s going to happen down the line.
“But I wish him the best. I don’t want to sit there and get into a war of words, it’s not going to do good for anybody. Hopefully we’ll see him down the line.
“If I was as big, bad, and rough for what he’s saying in the ring and I beat him up so badly that it took 20 years off his career do you think that WWE would have me in the ring with guys like John Cena and Dolph Ziggler and other top WWE talents? No. I wouldn’t be here. I would be gone. We have a roster full of guys that know the truth. He said what he said. I respect his opinion to say what he wants to say, but it’s not true. I know some people are going to believe him, some people aren’t. In a few weeks it’s going to be irrelevant and I’m going to be with the WWE moving forward.”

ZitatCM Punk will be writing for DC Comics this coming March. Punk will be writing a story for "Strange Sport Stories." This is a revival of an old series from the 1960's and 1970's.

ZitatThoughts on CM Punk leaving WWE:
Good for him. Kudos to Punk for finding himself something to do after WWE. He's made a big splash over the last few weeks between his podcasts and signing with UFC. I wish him the best of luck. I really hope that he has as much success there as he has here. I think it will be very interesting for him to try something new. He's only been a pro wrestler since he was 18 years old. For him, at his age, to step out of his comfort zone and try something new is pretty admirable and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.
The way CM Punk left WWE:
I think it could have handled better, probably, on both sides. And I think down the road, people involved will say the same thing. But as much as I don't necessary agree with the way he left, I think I understand, mentally, where he was. This business can take a toll on you. You travel a lot. You get beat up a lot. There's a lot of frustration that's involved and mentally, over time, that can wear on you. It can put you in place where you're a different person. And when you're not happy with who you are and the person you want to be, you gotta take a step back. You gotta look at things outside the bubble a little bit. I think that's what he did and I think he realized that he needed to take a step back and see what was going on. And if he didn't like it, then he can move on. I think they agreed to disagree. Like I said, could have been handled differently from a public relations standpoint on both sides. I think once the dust settles, everything will feel itself out and it should be alright.
If the locker room would welcome CM Punk back to WWE:
I don't see why not. He's a self-admitted jerk, first of all. And if you listen to his podcast, he didn't say that he was in a great mood the last few months that he was there. He admitted how grumpy he was and how much of a jerk he was, even more than he already is. I think we would welcome him back. I'm not to hold too much grudges. I think everyone deserves a second chance; an opportunity to redeem themselves. I would welcome him back. I'm sure he would face some resentment, as far as the locker room is concerned. But guys get over that stuff pretty quick. I think if it was best for business, yeah, I would be open to it for sure.

ZitatAlles anzeigenRyback is the latest guest on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast. They talked about CM Punk's recent comments on Colt Cabana's podcast about how Ryback was dangerous in the ring. Jericho said he worked with Ryback and never saw the type of things Punk described. Jericho said he likes working with Ryback. Ryback responded to Punk's comments on the podcast:
"I went and heard part of it. Punk was always good to me when he was here and I felt I was good to him. He was never like that to my face and I felt we always had good matches for the most part on the live events. To leave and say the things he said, I try not to take anything personal anymore. So whatever he's going through, if he feels the need to say that, I can tell you it's not true."
Ryback added that if he was really as dangerous as Punk says he is, WWE wouldn't put him in the ring with guys like Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and others.
"It's one of those things, it's like, come on man. I don't understand if it's a personal thing with me. I don't know but I have no ill feeling towards the guy, I wish him the best."
Ryback also gave props to Punk for starting something new and getting into MMA. He said he won't take Punk's comments personal because everyone in WWE knows the real Ryback.
Ryback said he felt bad about the botched table spot at TLC but said the confrontation Punk described where Punk asked Ryback if he was stupid did not happen and would never happen.
ZitatAlles anzeigenMick Foley wrote the following on his Facebook page about CM Punk signing with UFC:
"A BOLD CHOICE FOR PUNK
I've been asked quite a bit over the past several days for my opinion on CM Punk's decision to sign with UFC. I applaud it. While I have no idea how Punk will fare with top level MMA competitors, I do know that no one will out-train him or out-work him, and that, whether he wins or loses, succeeds or fails, he's likely to be responsible for a few incredible PPV buy-rates - which had been a cause of concern for him since the dawning of the #WWENetwork...which, last time I checked was only $9.99 a month.
Just as importantly, #CMPunk won't end up sitting on his couch 10 years from now, muttering the two dirtiest words in the English language: "what if"?"
