ROH „15th Anniversary Show“ (10.03.2017 – Las Vegas, Nevada): Top Contenders Match offiziell bestätigt

One of the men that competed in the main event of the very first ROH card 15 years ago, “Almighty” Christopher Daniels, looks to fulfill his destiny and capture the ROH World Championship for the first time in his career. Daniels, who earned this opportunity by winning the Decade of Excellence Tournament, will face ROH World Champion Adam Cole!

The ROH Board of Directors and Executive Committee have pledged that all championships will be on the line and all of the top stars will appear at Sam’s Town Live! in Las Vegas! Jay Lethal’s opponent has been determined and the match determined by chance has certainly turned into a grudge match!

JAY LETHAL vs. BOBBY FISH

For over two years, the man who calls himself “The Greatest First Generation Wrestler of All Time” Jay Lethal held either or both ROH World singles championships, establishing himself as one of the all-time great stars in ROH history. Lethal heads to Vegas looking to make more history, seeking a signature win against one of the top contenders live on Pay Per View!

Looking for his first opportunity to challenge for the ROH World Championship since the Reach for the Sky Tour, Lethal is looking for a victory over a top-tier opponent to prove to the new Board of Directors that he is deserving of a shot to dethrone whomever the champion will be. While not an outright number one contender’s bout, whoever walks out of 15th Anniversary the winner of this match will surely be a top contender!

It won’t be a walk in the park for Lethal, however.

In his way is a man that came within milliseconds of becoming the ROH World Champion at Manhattan Mayhem, former ROH World Television and Tag Team champion Bobby Fish! The loss to Cole in the main event of the relaunch of one of ROH’s signature events has only made Fish more motivated. Fish and Lethal’s history runs deep: the bout serves as a rematch of sorts of the World Television title classic from All Star Extravaganza VII between Lethal and Fish.

The duo that recently had dissention following a big win over Cole and Hangman Page at The Experience in a Falls Count Anywhere bout. Then, the duo brawled to the back after Lethal inadvertently hit Fish with a dive following a Ring of Honor television eight-man tag team main event against Bullet Club! A match that was supposed to be between two of the top stars in the world has now turned into a grudge match and both men know that a win could catapult them immediately to the top of the contender mountain and put them in the World and World Television title mix!
