Wie das „Life & Style Magazine“ berichtet, behauptet ein Insider, dass der aktuelle Streit zwischen Dwayne „The Rock“ Johnson und Vin Diesel bei den Dreharbeiten zum achten Fast & Furious-Teil „Fast 8“ nur ein großer PR-Gag ist, der zu einem Wrestling-Match zwischen den beiden bei WrestleMania 33 führen soll, um auf diese Weise den Kinostart von „Fast 8“ im April 2017 groß zu bewerben.

Der Insider wörtlich:

„The Rock convinced Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8.“

Die angeblichen Streitigkeiten zwischen Dwayne „The Rock“ Johnson und Vin Diesel begannen bekanntlich vor einigen Wochen, als The Rock via Instagram einige seiner Kollegen am „Fast 8“-Set als „Candy Asses“ bezeichnet hat, zu denen auch Vin Diesel gezählt hat. The Rock damals wörtlich:

„My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ‚em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.“
