ROH „All Star Extravaganza VIII“ Pay-Per-View (30.09. – Lowell, Massachusetts): ROH World Championship Match offiziell bestätigt

The Best Professional Wrestling on the Planet makes its triumphant return to the Boston area for ALL STAR EXTRAVAGANZA VIII, which will air live on pay per view on Friday September 30, to be followed with a National TV Taping on Saturday October 1! Both events will feature both the stars of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling!

Boston is ripe with wrestling history, with names like Killer Kowalski, Bruno Sammartino, Gorilla Monsoon, and George Steele jumping from the record books of the Boston Garden. Classic battles in Boston in the formative years of ROH featuring The Briscoes, Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and Samoa Joe, helped lay the foundation of the company. For the VERY FIRST TIME, the stars of New Japan will be competing IN BOSTON adding to what already what is anticipated to be a wild night in ROH’s FIRST card in Boston in nearly FIVE YEARS!

ROH WORLD CHAMPION ADAM COLE vs. IWGP INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION “UNBREAKABLE” MICHAEL ELGIN

After disrupting the main event of Global Wars, after weeks of taunts and beat downs, Adam Cole put his money where his mouth was, and defeated Jay Lethal at Death Before Dishonor in the center of the ring, free of Bullet Club interference to become just the third star in Ring of Honor history to capture the World Championship for a second time.

He will face an old rival on one of the hottest streaks in recent memory looking to become the fourth man to accomplish the same feat in his first Pay-Per-View defense!

“Unbreakable” Michael Elgin has been nearly unstoppable on both sides of the Pacific for well over a calendar year. Whether it is his impressive wins in singles competition in both ROH and NJPW, his tag team success with Hiroshi Tanahashi, or his signature victory in one of the all-time great ladder matches when he captured the IWGP Intercontinental Championship from Kenny Omega, “Big Mike” has proved he is among the world’s best.

And he will head to New England looking to do what he did at Ring of Honor’s very first live Pay-Per-View in June 2014: pin Adam Cole and win the ROH World Championship.

But will Cole even make it to All-Star Extravaganza as champion? Cole has signed to face international star Will Ospreay at New Japan’s Destruction in Hiroshima Pay-Per-View on September 22 and Ospreay has already promised to defend the championship as soon as the Reach for the Sky Tour thanks to a waiver by McGuinness. McGuinness has commented that arrangements are being discussed should Ospreay win the championship in Japan!

Should Cole make it to Lowell, MA as champion, however, the deck is seemingly stacked in “Big Mike’s” favor, a rare advantage for the challenger! Long-time ROH fans know the history between these two men: Cole won his first ROH World Championship from Elgin in a tournament final in September 2013 while Elgin defeated Cole for the championship just under a year later at Best in the World 2014. But the great equalizer may be Bullet Club, who has been known to rear their ugly heads in the most inopportune times! In a match that will air on a future episode of ROH television, Elgin and Tanahashi defeated Cole and Hangman Page, giving Elgin the first strike heading into the Pay-Per-View!

Both stars now have significantly more international experience under their belts and this ROH World Championship rubber match between the two has all the makings of an instant classic with both Cole and Elgin at the top of their games! It is Cole vs. Elgin III at All-Star Extravaganza live on Pay-Per-View from Lowell, MA – don’t miss it!
