JBL mit Fulltime-Comeback am Kommentatorenpult

    John Bradshaw Layfield hat gestern Abend auf Facebook in einer Nachricht verkündet, dass er mit sofortiger Wirkung fulltime als Kommentator zur WWE zurückkehren wird.


    Darin gab er bekannt, dass er neben Josh Mathews zukünftig die Freitagsshow "SmackDown!" kommentieren und bei den Pay-Per-Views als dritter Mann am Kommentatorenpult Platz nehmen wird:


    "Very happy WWE and I have worked out a deal for me to return on a full time basis. There came a need when my friend Jerry Lawler had a heart attack and was not able to work, however, I realized how much I enjoyed being back and this was the basis for my decision to return.


    I now just enjoy doing commentary, and no, have no desire to ever be in the ring again. I am in the best shape I have probably ever been in due to the mountain training, but a twisted knee, ankle or back and I lose my dream of the Seven Summits-not worth the risk to me and I had my time and I loved it. Commentary is where I want to be.


    I will doing Smackdown with Josh Matthews. I have filled in on Main Event some but mainly when Miz has a large part in the show and can’t do commentary.


    Raw is 100% Jerry’s. He and Michael are a great team, I enjoy listening to Jerry and there are no plans for a three man booth with me in it. I am happy on Smackdown.


    It looks like I will be doing PPVs as a representative for the Smackdown brand as part of a three man booth with Cole and King.


    I cannot say enough how impressed I am with Michael Cole, there is so much more to the commentary game now and he is the best I have seen. Josh prepares well and we don’t have the sync that Michael and I have yet, but we will get there. Josh is fun to work with, I love when I get him so frustrated he throws his hands up in the air not knowing what I will say next. Michael and I had a year of commentary behind us already when I returned, Josh and I have only been doing it for a short time.


    I don’t know where Josh buys those horrible sweaters and gets that spiky haircut though.


    And yes, I do have fun ribbing my old boss and Okie friend JR. It’s all in good fun."

    JBL ist soooo gut am mic und kann sowohl faces als auch heels super over bringen. positiv auch für jerry lawler der etwas kürzer treten kann. und das beste: ENDLICH mal wieder ein reiner heel color comentator.

    Ja, das freut mich doch auch. JBL hat richtig frischen Wind reingebracht ins das Kommentatoren Team, v.a. die Kombi mit Cole gefällt mir richtig gut.

    Ich glaube nicht, dass Layfield einen Heel verkörpert. Er sieht die Sache neutral und lobt meistens die Leute, die er gut findet. Wie du schon angesprochen hast ist das für Face und Heel Wrestler ein Segen, denn bisher haben Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross und seit einiger Zeut auch wieder Michael Cole total auf die Faces versteift.



    Layfield ist - wie mehrfach gesagt - natürlich ein Segen für das eher schwach besetzte Kommentatorengespann. Er ist eine sehr gute Ergänzung, hat (meistens) Ahnung wovon er redet und ist einfach angenehm(er) anzuhören als so manch anderer 5-malige WCW Champion da draußen...

    Zudem wurde man auch von Michael Cole "übersättigt", der RAW, SmackDown! und Main Event sowie die PPVs kommentiert(e). Dass JBL als Michael Cole-Ersatz bei SmackDown! fungiert, ist auf jeden Fall eine gute Entscheidung, da auch Michael Cole somit ein wenig entlastet wird. Und als dritter Mann am Kommentatorenpult bei den Pay-Per-Views ist er auch eine Bereicherung.

    Es freut mich, dass John "Bradshaw" Layfield ab sofort full time als Kommentator zugegen sein wird. Ich mag seinen Kommentatorenstil und die Sprüche, die er manchmal von sich gibt, finde ich auch sehr unterhaltsam. er scheint ein guter Freund des schwarzen Humors zu sein. ^^

    Ich freue mich ebenfalls dass JBL nun fulltime als Kommentator zurückkehrt. Der Job passt ihm und somit sieht man ihn "endlich" mal wieder. Der wird die Zuschauer gut unterhalten. Auch wenn er als Heel auftritt,einfach gut.

    Auch wenn man es im Nachhinein immer so leicht sagen kann: Ehrlich gesagt bin ich am Anfang von Booker T als Kommentator nicht davon ausgegangen dass er dieses Job fulltime über mehrere Monate hält. :D

    Coole Sache, das JBL jetzt dauerhaft dabei ist.


    Vielleicht will man Smackdown allgemein wieder etwas aufwerten. War ja früher mal ne zeitlang auch beinahe die stärkere Show, obwohl RAW natürlich immer das Flagschiff war und sein wird. Aber noch vor ein paar Monaten hat man den Voraufgezeichnet-Nachteil ja oftmals gut durch bessere Cuts und besseren Flow der Sendung hinbekommen, das ging zuletzt ein wenig flöten. Vor allem schade, das die Brands nicht mehr so eigenständig sind, zumindest in der Form, das Smackdown-Stars zwar regelmässiger Bestandteil von RAW sind, umgekehrt aber nicht.


    B2T: Wenn man JBL speziell für SD! verpflichtet, will man SD! zumindest wieder aufwerten. Das ist so oder so schon mal ne gute entwicklung.
